Orbitz does not tell you BEFORE you cancel a ticket that your credit can only be used for future travel if the new ticket is more expensive than the cancelled ticket!

I had to cancel a one-way ticket that cost $316.00.  I was told by the agent that I could use my credit toward any ticket purchased in the next year for the same traveler.

When I tried to use my credit for the purchase of a ticket that cost $230.00, I was told that I could not use my credit because the ticket was less expensive than the original ticket!  She said, "Oh, you'll lose your credit, so the only option you have is to book this ticket and use your credit some other time".

If I had been told up-front that the credit is only good on higher priced tickets that wouldn't have been a problem, but I feel like I have been taken advantage of in this situation.
