Complaint Review: Oregon Department Of Justice - Division Of Child Support

It amazes me how people who have never been in a position say the dumbest things. Guess what when a judge orders you to do something you do it or suffer the conquences like jail, then maybe you'll do the right thing that shouldn't take a judges order and support you kids! Just a thought my sons 23 and since I've never been on welfare getting the state to do their job is like pulling teeth. Our modified order was $150 for 6 months then $350 he's made a few payments never even the $150 and the support workers said something's better than nothing, not really since I waved 34,000. Already just so it make it not so impossible for him since it left him with a whopping $12,000. Not bad for never seeing or supporting your kid I've spent the total support ordered on our son in a two yr period putting him through college. Here's my suggestion stop using my tax dollars to pay an agency that's only concern is to collect on people who's children are being forced to use state programs  cause their parent wont pay for their kids frankly I'd rather see my tax dollars putting them to work and only pay them what they've expected their kids to live off, or jail is a good use of my money for repeat offenders.  

 Have you visited the main office of Oregon State CSD or any other? They may have alittle problem with their english. Like alot of state agencies inorder to drop the welfare roles they hirer from there. Or it sure seems like it. They've witheld posting payment to my grand-childs account up to six weeks even though they had the funds, cleared my sons checking account. And I went with him to Salem when he did make the payment. Hard place to find. If you have child support with held from your pay checks and switch jobs good luck. The easy way is to let the other parent listen to your conversation with the case worker while you try toget them to change after weeks. (son finally did)  Then they can blow-up on them instead of you. If you blow-up it will cost you your credit. (they get alittle petty when you blow-up and your the payee son found that out).  Well my best suggestion to you who pay and you who receive call your congress men, senators, and demand they hirer more qualified people.  Save your frustration and put them back on relief might save tax dallors in the long run. 

    I also have takin it in the rear from our fair state since my ex was ordered to pay in Dec 2004. I am from CA but moved here to OR in 1996.At that time my daughter Asley was 1.5 yrs old and had had the pleasure of being seen by her dad once,for 30 min,when she was about 3 mnths old in 1994.It took DCS from February of 1996 to December of 2004 to finally track him down he then he denied paternity so we took care of that and the judge in CA where he lived ordered him to pay $359 a month. My stand up ex husband then quit his job and ran with his tail between his legs to Colorado.If it wasnt bad enough that he was able to fly under the radar till Dec of 2004 so no support to be paid from Sept 94 till Dec 2004, they now start the 6 yr battle just to get CA then CO to follow through with just looking up his freakin info! In the mean time I have yet to this day recieve a dime, he is now in the arears $25013.32.I dont understand! First of all no court order for support active from 1994 to 2004 means go ahead and run deadbeats cause if theres no order you wont owe!But now I check in with my worker every 2 mnths and always she has the same excuse "waiting on a response from the other state"finally a couple months ago I got pissed when I found out WA was raping us again to pay off my boyfriends ex *****'s welfare that she sighned up for when she quit her job 2 days after taking step son for the weekend and never coming back with him ($12,000 of 2008's tax refund and another $5000 this yr)and asked myself "how does IRS catch My boyfriend 2 yrs in a row,paid off both yrs,and yet I have yet to see so much as a nickle in 15 yrs!So I called my worker,again,and asked her flat out if she was sleepin on the job or what she then proceeded to tell me that he has shown no income in the last 6 yrs so what is she supposed to do?I then said take his license,send him to jail do something PLEASE!Her response to me was we dont take there licenses cause they would just drive anyways and OR doesnt send offenders to jail either lol....Yeah right! So after we argued for a min or twelve she just said if you think you can do my job better then go for it and good luck,he's not working! Well 2 weeks ago i got a friend request on Facebook from an old h.s. friend and while looking at his friends page,a freakin miracle occured there was my ex'a brother then went to his and guess who! You got it my ex was staring at me on Facebook! After investigating for a whole 2.5 min I found the website for his JOBBBBBB,his direct telephone line to his desk,pics of the coffee shop he just sold 2 yrs ago,pics of the home he owned 2 yrs ago and video of him on his very high dollar racing motorcycles!And it was all right there on his info page!Of course I immediately called my lazy a*s worker but,what a shock, VOICEMAIL! So I tried to push 0 to get a supervisor but with no success so I left her all ther info anfd asked her to call me back.Well I have yet to hear from her but I got the copy of the notice to withhold income, that they sent to his work,just 4 short days later!d**n that was easy!I should apply for DCS I do there job better then them!Lol yet to recieve any money but he now thinks he is #1 dad and IM's my daughter everyday on Facebook and wants her to come stay with him for the summerDid he fall down,bump his head and forget the last 15 yrs? Oh well she aint dumb! After all she is her mothers daughter.He did IM me yesterday though to ask if I would lower the support payments because hes fallen on hard times :( ........ I agree with you all that the Oregon child support program doesnt help the children they claim to be all about. My ex owes me over 12k in back child support and I havent received regular support at any point during this 11 year battle. They have never attmepted to suspend his license, take his taxes or anything like I have had happen to me since my divorce back in 2006. Any time they find who he works for is ONLY because I have found out through the grapevine and then I let them know right away.

My oldests sons father moved to NV and since then whenever I request info they say they are still trying to locate him to serve him with the modification paperwork that I filed to have them review my case and change the amount to be paid every month. This has been going on for almost a year now. Anytime they want info about him they send me that stupid paperwork asking me all this BS about him that really, how the hell would I know? Dont you ppl think that if I knew SO WOULD YOU ???

 My child support amount has been 204 and never been changed or reviewed like they are indeed supposed to unless I have a valid reason to have them review it sooner. Which in my case 204 a month doesnt do crap to support an 11 year old anymore. I stupidly didnt know they were required to review them after certain periods of time have passed and since then I have asked for the review and you see how far Ive gotten with that.

 Heres the real kicker I also pay child support to my ex and when I was in between jobs and got behind they threw me to the wolves(the DA for marion county) who aggressivly garnished my kicker check in 2007-08, portions of my taxes, as well as threated to suspend my license.

My support that I pay was originally ordered to be 362 per mth for one child when my income was only 10.00 per hr and I have 2 other children besides him that I supported on my own SINGLE income. I filed to have them modify my support order and that took me over 2 years and a grievance to have anything even started. Then conviently they lost my paperwork.. God ol child support

Finally after 6 months beyond the point the grievance stated that my case was currently being modified and should have the final documents I got my support lowered to an amount that I am able to pay without the rest of my family suffering because of my bitter ex husband and his woman hating attorney.

I am not wealthy by any means. I get food stamps and my kids get medical so every penny I get helps me get them the things they want and need. I wish that my voice would be heard and that someone would make these lazy s****.>

but if he's doing side work, what should the state do? That money is obviously not being reported to the IRS nor is it being taxed, etc. They can't take it, because it doesn't exist. You could probably report him to the IRS for tax evasion if he is really bringing in that much money on the side and not reporting it.

Its difficult to make someone pay who doesn't have a real job. There's nothing to take from them. You may be able to get him in jail for it, but then you still won't have the child support.

The ODJ CSD is a complete JOKE! My ex has a knack for either quitting his job, or getting fired. He's ALWAYS done side work out of his house, he even started his own machine shop out of his house. He's raking in a couple grand a month, and I'm not getting a dime of "child support" for months.

I've called my caseworker numerous times to tell her this, and she says they can't do anything about it. Right.... I watched him do this with his oldest child when I was with him. I'm the one who does their job. I keep tabs on his sheisty butt so that when he does get a new job, I know where and can report him. If I leave it up to the wonderful State of Oregon to do something, I'd be waiting until I was a grandmother. Honestly, if he'd sign over all his parental rights I wouldn't care to see another dime. He's a worthless dead-beat who doesn't give a rat's a** about his kids. Which he now has 3 of with 3 different women. I talk to the other two ladies who say the exact same things as I do and have the EXACT same issues with ODJ as I do. Pathetic if you ask me. I'm beginning to think that a drunken monkey could do a better job.

I have also experienced a 18 year run with the corruption and incompetence of that said agency. They care NOT about any "illegal transfer of assets", and don't seem much interested in the best interest of the child, as their mission statements allude. I have sole custody, no visitation so yeah, the control freak I married never liked that, but since it's like that it should be obvious it's for very grave reasons --not like I wanted to be an ONLY parent. Point is, it's none of their business. But the state(s), who is not supposed to represent either party has editorialized -ad naseum- regarding the judge's orders which they refused to properly enforce, and used as toilet paper most likely.

While they are prohibited from re-adjudicating in their offices, they like to think they can when he gives them call to say, "poor-little-rich-boy me, can't afford my 2 million dollar mansion upkeep in the Berkeley Hills, and all my island-hopping, with my very large trust fund, AND be expected to fork over what the judge told me to... including health insurance of which I have been granted monthly credit for and have my own stellar policy while a attending a private master's program in religious technologies at a prestigious, private university in San Francisco, in marriage and family counseling I'm so cool (even though I don't willingly support my own children), that is paid for out of my trust by my mommy (see, I DO get child support and I'm 57 years old), and attend by driving to the campus in my brand-new shining babe-catching vehicle every two years, even though the mother of my child cannot get food stamps to feed her and go to school w/o weaning her at 6 months old to attend mandatory jobs programs that the judge relieved her from.", or something. Dang, now that's hardship.

I believe the agenda is to funnel us custodial folks over to the welfare window so they can keep that punitive program up and running. Wouldn't want to funnel the perennially unemployed deadbeats into a jobs program for abuse and neglect and FELONY offenses, though. Those with kids strapped to their backs are easier to catch I suppose. Tax payers should be up in arms!

And when you use the complaining process you are enemy combatant NUMERO UNO. No amount of administrative hearing nonsense will get you off that hook --forever.

The last $2700 of interest I managed to get outta the X with the help of an outside agency NOT related to the state, that forced their hand into a contempt hearing finally, which was the only punishment (paying interest on the tens of thousands of dollars they let him keep in his interest-earning bank account) ever going to happen to the wealthy rat -- never any withholding his licenses to drive or practice messing with the heads of the vulnerable for a living where no wages were attached (!!), THEY KEPT (in their interest-baring account?) for 3 1/2 years and then cooked the books after I contacted our senator's office for assistance, telling him I had asked for an audit years prior before my child emancipated, in anticipation of this thievery. It was finally paid 2 wks ago, but my daughter has been out of the house for 2 1/2 years! So much for their commitment to the care of children.

This is an ongoing and obscene abomination of justice, wrecked my family, and I am not done with the crooks. Good luck to us all!

I am going thru the same thing you are to the tee! I actually may have gotten a story with the newspaper, I also have a letter to the Senator, and have talked to the regional office 10 who funds support enforcement. This is not justice! this is criminal!! I hold the State of Oregon just as responsible as my sons dad. I have went 17 years dealing with their so called enforcement efforts. Any way PLEASE send me an Email, I would love to hear from you maybe the both of us can make some kind of difference. I told the reporter and all the other higher ups I WILL BE HEARD! 17 years is too long!! Hope to hear from you soon.
