For the past several years I have renewed my vehicle licence At the DEQ emmission station for the standard fee. the attendent would insert a device in the exhast and in a short time issue a pass or fail. Very easy and quick.

This year some smart a*s has decided that this process could be completed by reading the auto computer diognostic system. this seems simple unless the system for some unrelated reason does not register with the DEQ system.

If not, the vehicle owner is required to have a mechanic check the system to the tune of $250-$300 the system must be configured to respond to the DEQ device and has no bearing on the vehicle emmissions. This change in procedure will cost consumers a lot of money for no good reason.

Is this government for the people?
