Complaint Review: Orlando Weddings - Michele Rapaport

We recieved the news that Orlando Weddings / Michele Rapaport had gone out of business on July 26th (less than one week before my daughter's wedding). My daughter had received an e-mail from another wedding planner who had stepped in to help out brides scammed by Orlando Weddings.

It was not until the Tuesday that we found out just how bad the situation was. We met at the planned wedding/reception site to find out that Michele Rapaport had not paid for the meals for our guests, the flowers, the limo the cake the officient or the DJ. She had not even booked the photographer for the day.

I had spoken to Michele at Orlando Weddings only the week prior to finalize details and get the final balance in order to bring the funds with me from Canada (as we had added some extra items) The original contract had been pd in full April 2008.

Although we ended up having to payout more money to our vendors (as Michele paid them very little or nothing) we ended up with a beautiful wedding for our Daughter in spite of her and with much thanks to our new Wedding Planner.

If there is anything that can be done to ensure Michele Rapaport does not put other families and Brides through the same stress that she caused us, we would be more than willing to do what we can.
