My QWest bill included a $ 8.55 charge for an alleged collect call from Pharr Texas. I have no reason to have someone call from Pharr Texas. After checking this site, I confirmed my suspicions.

I called QWest and was able, at least verbally, to have the charge removed. I also got a "freeze," to prevent this OSP Communications entity from making future charges. The agent told me that Qwest had authorization from the FCC to charge me for alleged services done by other companies.

That does not make any sense to me. It is like being billed by Lola's Tires for an alleged service provided by Pepe's Windows, unless Lola and Pepe are in bed.

I expressed my concern about a large company, such as QWest, with a reputation to protect, making deals with third parties that can charge me without any authorization on my part. Billing of this type should be outlawed.
