Ostir Chiropractic has signs outside of their offices stating come in for a FREE CONSULTATION and i made an appt for a free consultation. At no point did anyone tell me if I had xrays done they were not included in the FREE CONSULTATION. I was slapped with a $300 bill - for the xrays and now I am stuck with the bill. I spoke specifically with DR BEAL one on one in his office and asked him how much everything costs and not once did he mention anything about costs for xrays! He said once the consultation is done you come back in and then you find out what is wrong with you and we go from there. Needless to say.... THIS IS A SCAM!!! their website is VERY MISLEADING, false advertising, and very unprofessional. I regret going.

I called and spoke with Debbie the woman who handles the billing there and asked her about it and she said "Um yeah I talked to the Dr and he said you are going to have to pay." Well guess what I am not paying it and I could care less if it goes into collections. This place is a scam! I sent a letter into the Better Business Bureau and I wish I would have looked them up prior to going, but I did not. STAY AWAY FROM OSTIR CHIROPRACTIC!!

Free consultation NOT free treatment

The ads that are run are for free consultations NOT free healthcare.  It is actually illegal for us not to bill for xrays.  By law we are not able to "give away free" any billable service.  A FREE CONSULTATION is just that, a CONSULTATION.  A consultation consists of sitting down with the doctor explaining to them what your problem/pain is and their assessing it and letting you know what they can do to help you alleivate the problem/pain.

If you consent to xrays this is no longer a consultation.  You are now consenting to treatment.  When you make a follow-up appointment you have now scheduled an appointment NOT another consultation.

I agree with Ms. Rose. In addition, you should also contact the Chiropractic board and even your local FBI department.

bait and switch

This is a typical bait and switch.    I wouldn't pay it either.  Contacting the BBB won't get you anywhere.  What you CAN do is file a complaint against Frank Ostir through the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation!   Go to:

https://www.idfpr.com/dpr/FILING/Complaint.asp

Explain everything to them about the obvious fraud going on and they will do the rest!!

Good luck to you!
