When I arrived at Ourisman honda, I had conducted all negotiations with them over the phone and email and had been given what I thought was a final offer.

I had asked them if they had the vehicle in the color and specs I wanted to purchase. They assured me that they had. We went in that evening itself. It's a bit of a drive and we were surpised to find they did NOT have it in stock and would have someone drive it over.

We had arranged financing with our bank and were not prepared to negotiate. My husband and I have very limited time on weekdays and were just trying to complete negotiations as much over email as possible (basically documenting every portion of transactions)

When we sat down to do the paperwork, suddenly a large (we are talking nearly 2K dollars) accessories fee was tacked. Additionally, the salesman left to get a very combative sales manager.

He kept at us stating that if we had driven that far to purchase the van, he was not prepared to let us leave without hearing him out. The last time I got up to leave, he even accosted me verbally over my "rudeness". So I sat down to hear him out...basically it went downhill from there.

Very negative exchange at the end when I finally was able to walk out. This is my first new car purchase (I have always bought used). I was prepared to have manners and not pull my shirtsleeves up to negotiate like a baragain bazaar haggle. That's why there's an "internet" dept with an internet "drive off" quote.

I just wanted to mention that he absolutely made my first visit to a dealer to purchase a car (I had a check in hand in my purse for both my deposit and the full amount of loan) a nightmare and unpleasant evening.

The exchange confirmed the worst that we have come to expect from the sterotypical car salesman in America. Bravo for meeting a very low standard Ourisman. Given the senority of the gentleman who kept at us for an hour( I use the term loosely), I have to assume this is a standard organizational culture at this dealership to do a bait and switch. Aka...not complete honesty.

When I called them on the lack of honesty, they still continued lieing to my face about the price. Fortunately I had the email with me.
