Out of State Movers was contracted by Coastal Moving Group (my next report).  I obtained pricing from Coastal Moving Group based on the cargo described and they told me that it was approximately 242 cubic feet and that I was well within the minimum 300 cubic feet.  They arranged for Out of State Moving to pick up my belongings which was less cubic feet than orginally estimated.  My contract with Coastal states that packaging was included long with wrapping with blankets.  Once my belongings were on the truck Fadi charged me for 400 cubic feet along with $105 of packaging materials.  An additional $440. I was battling back and forth with Coastal and Out of State Moving regarding the gross overestimate of my belongs and got absolutely nowhere.  I was even charged for packing material I provided. I was able to get $24 credit for tape.

My daughter and I were traveling by car from New Jersey to North Carolina on August 23rd and arranged to have the delivery on August 24th.  The delivery man called while we were on our way and told us that they were delivering on August 23rd.  A day early. They arrived at the location around 3:30pm and we were not there yet.  They went to the door and harrassed my daughter's roommate and she called my daughter to let her know that they were there demanding the balance of payment. At around 4:15pm they called my daughter and threatened to leave if we were not there by 4:30pm.   Fortunately we did arrive around that time.

The office person at Out of State Moving, Linda, told me that we could have the delivery man measure our cargo as I was still not convinced that we had 400 cubic feet (one bedroom & 3 boxes of kitchen stuff). He refused as he said he did not have a tape measure.  As it turns out Coastal's contract was not honored by Out of State Moving as the terms were different on each one.  They were very unprofessional and rude.  Our belongings were held hostage until I paid up.

Since I contracted through Coastal Moving Group, whom I did not know was only a broker, I did not chose Out of State Moving or would have I'd known their reputation.
