On April 13th Overnite was to deliver a 255 pound package from Texas to me in Columbus Ohio. I was taking delivery of this item for my elderly parents for their business. The delivery driver arrives in a semi. We were told he would come in a UPS sized truck WITH a lift gate.

Our paperwork also stated that it was to be delivered to our garage. He shows up LATE in a semi with NO LIFT GATE. It gets better - he also shows up ALONE, HE HAS NO DOLLY OR HAND CART, HE HAS NO PALLET MOVER either!!!! He expects to push off the back of this semi a 255 pound package into my and my mothers arms. Mind you I am 5'6" and I am eye level with the floor of the semi-trailor.

I told him forget it, you didn't bring any help or the proper tools, bring it back tomorrow. He told us "No problem, I can come back tomorrow with a lift gate."

He shows up on the afternoon of the 14th with a smaller truck and it has a lift gate. I first greet him and ask him if he can back in his truck to my driveway - he has plenty of room and in fact in preparation for his arrival, we paid professionals to come to our house and remove a tree from the corner of our driveway so that any truck could make the angle. He said "No!"

He then proceeded to get in the back of the truck where I see that my package has already had its crating and straps removed and has been wrapped (ONLY THE SIDES AND TOP) in cardboard which was cheesily taped on. He puts the pallet on the lift gate, lowers the item to the alley pavement pushes it off - AND THAT WAS IT!!! He left a $1500.00 item right in the middle of a busy alley that people fly up at 45 mph everyday!

I asked him "Aren't you going to take it up to the garage with the pallet mover?" He said he wasn't "authorized to do so." I showed him the bill of lading that CLEARLY STATED THAT IT WAS TO BE DELIVERED FROM COMMERCIAL TO RESIDENTIAL BEING DROPPED OFF AT THE GARAGE. My garage was still 45-50 feet away!

So I immediately got on the phone with his company as the driver pulled away and the Manager for Overnite - Mike Carc (Carr,Cark) or something anyway some MAJORLY inept high school educated drop-out flunkie gets on the phone and informs me that my bill of lading is incorrect (which by the way is a carbon copy of his copy) and that he was to drop it off only at my house. I have a problem with this statement of Mike's as leaving an item worth $1500.00 in a busy alley in not the best neighborhood is HARDLY DELIVERING IT TO MY HOUSE!

So I called my mother who is in no condition to be putting up with this nonsense over to 'gaurd' the package while I argue with this cromagnon man Mike who apparently has the mindpower to dimly light a firefly's a*s. He refuses to give back any of the money even though OVERNITE has not honored their delivery agreement and have treated us horribly. He says he'll track down the driver Dave Kerry, who by the way reaked of alcohol when he was down on the pavement by me, if he wasn't a drunk then he must have diabetes with bad breath, and make him go back to move it into my garage.

While my mother and I wait on this no talent a*s clown to come back and finish his job after his boss and to call him and tell him to do his job, I get some big guys that witnessed this whole thing at Eddie's Glass Shop, slide it out of the street for me. Eddie's Glass guys pushed the pallet past my brick wall. While we waited and waited I got back on the phone to complain to Mike again as this driver may not show up until nightfall and I wanted to know if I could get a timeframe - I get hung up on. I wait another 45 minutes and lo and behold here comes Dave the driver again. Only Eddie's Glass guys have parked two vans in the alley just before my driveway to unload their work vans. Well the OVERNITE driver cannot see the package sitting on the pallet behind my brick wall, he doesn't EVEN GET OUT TO LOOK OR TO KNOCK ON MY DOOR, he just sees he can't go through the alley so he starts backing up! I run out the door and he has it turned around and guns it up my street! Now mind you he's driving about a 30 foot package/box truck, no one drives like that especially with all the kids that are around on bikes and skateboards. He then puts on his flashers and sits there at the end of my block and watches me in his mirrors.

So I start walking up my street while waiting on hold again on my phone with OVERNITE trying to talk to Mike about a refund - and get this - THE b*****d TAKES OFF!! So I stand gaurd on the package until my Sherrif Deputy neighbor comes home who is a big dude and he calls his courthouse buddy three blocks away who has a dolly and they come over and put it in my garage for me.

So beware anyone who does business on eBay or regularly uses OVERNITE trucking. Their name says it all OVERNITE is how long you'll be there gaurding your stuff so that it doesn't get stolen or run over by traffic. They don't care, they hire drunks apparently and thugs that take no pride in their job or themselves. They are a vindictive company that is only interested in taking your money.

My parents paid over $300 for this service and anyone knows I could have done it better for that much money. I think that everyone should take note that I've used Old Dominion Freight Lines before and I should have used them again this time.

NEVER USE OVERNITE BECAUSE THEY are a bunch of pud pullers with no integrity whatsoever and literally rob you. Oh yes, how could I forget, there is a huge dent in the side of the metal cabinet of this item, I guess they don't care that I needed to make a claim as I still have yet to hear from them. They don't respond to voicemails or my emails.

DON'T USE THEM YOU WILL REGRET IT, if you even had a complaint the management is as crooked as their small brained drivers, Mike doesn't feel he owes us any refund whatsoever. If I took a pizza order from you and delivered it to the corner drugstore near your house would you think you should have to pay for it? It is an incomplete transaction, I received no service, was treated rudely, and worse yet no one there cares that they took our money, dented our product, delayed our shipment with a promise from the same driver that he would come back the next day with equipment that would enable him to complete the job, only to have it sit in the street.

Not only do you not work for the aforementioned company as I do, but it sounds quite obvious you are an overnite employee posing as someone in HR at that company trying to discredit me. In actuality I believe you are a toothless ol' leather faced bag, most likely married to one of the trucker folks at OVERNITE - THE CRAPPIEST TRUCKERS ON THE ROAD, maybe even Dave the driver. So take your tuburculosis ridden carcas and get on your hog and ride down to the local watering hole and console yourself on why you actually have a knocked up 15 year old daughter and a horridly wicked case of halitosis that could make a bull go cross-eyed. As for being a sociopath, well, duh, that's what pharmacies are for. You remember going to the pharmacy don't you? Picking up your thalidamide and ingesting it in your second trimester? So get off the computer and go get your seal out of the tub. I mean son, and fix some easy mac for dinner.

threat??..I do not remember threatening you in my response to your complaint

Sir,

Per yor post, I do not remember threatening you in my response to your complaint, if that is the way that you felt, I do apologize. I was just indicating that no matter how mad you are it is always best to keep a level head, if not for anyone, at least for yourself.

Firstly, I would like to start by saying that I, much like yourself am a educated person. And yes, at the univeristy where I studied, the ability to read was a requirement.

I do not plan to go through all of the rules and regulations that go along in the trucking industry to see where your problem lays, and list our specific rules. This is why I refered you to the website. Believe me, Overnite is not trying to be the bad guy by having so many rules and regulations, ALL Less- than-truckload carriers that are more directed to delivering to businesses are going to have specific rules for delivering to a residence, and I am sure that they all charge in addition to the original freight charges to do so.

I also am not going to argue with you anymore. I was just trying to shed a little light on the ins and outs of the business.

Please make it stop, this degenerate Peter McNees has been using Abbott Labs

#14Consumer Suggestion

Thu, April 22, 2004

My name is Julie and I have been informed that this degenerate Peter McNees has been using Abbott Labs, the company I work for, and other information about -me- in his sick sadistic quest with this seemingly good trucking firm.

Please read the following information and know the truth!

Peter McNees does not work for Abbot Laboratories. If you have any questions you may contact us at
(847)937-9100.

I do NOT know who this Peter is as my family is all based out of state. This is a horrid coincidence, however at the advise of persons who shall remain un-named, I am posting to try and end this nightmare.

To this "Peter McNees"
STOP USING ME AS YOUR NOM DE GUERRE. You do not work at Abbott labs. You are not some Ph.D. working in a lab. Hell from everything I have read and seen you nothing more than a bully who feels it is his job in life to try and use what few remaining synapses that still fire to berate, belittle and bully his way all over people.

I sincerely hope that Overnite transportation stands up to you and you get what you deserve. Which at the very least is jail time so that you will finally get to live out all of your Homoerotic fantasies you seem to spew forth with the verbal skills of an invalid who has had far too much morphine.
I'm sorry for saying Mr. Mcnees. I'm sure only some of it was true. Please try to understand that after hearing of your posts and then reading it with my own eyes I am deeply disturbed by your psyche. Have you thought about seeking help. I hear assisted suicide is particularly effective.

IN CLOSING. Please stop egging this deluded lunatic on. STOP POSTING. STOP RESPONDING TO HIS HARRASING NOTES AND CALLS. Most of all do not believe a word he says. He has made my life entirely too uncomfortable in the past week and I'm sure has done the same to you.
Thank you

don't even try to threaten me

#14Author of original report

Wed, April 21, 2004

Dear S in Virginia...First don't even try to threaten me by telling me that my name is signed to it and that I should have all the facts. I DO have all of the facts and what I write is fact not fiction - I was here when it all happened and you were behind a desk or on a phone in Virginia as I am assuming you speak the truth when you filed this report as an employee. I'm glad you won't resort to name calling as you can understand the frustration related to this commercial to residential business. However, I do want to know why he just didn't leave it in the alley the first day, still in its orginal GOOD crating, instead of coming back with a smaller truck? No one can really make sense of this for me. So I'm left with the promise of the dud driver Dave Kerry telling me he'd be back to put it in the garage. Everyone seems to miss this point. As far as L in Virginia, Patrick, and all other OVERNITE employees that respond to this report NONE of you seem to be able to read with any comprehension skill. So I've booked an airline ticket and I want you all to meet me at your local library on the 5th of May at 4:00 p.m. It is a big building with lots of paper wrapped in leather and cardboard, and the paper has letters on it. Together we can all work together and figure out what my complaint means. AS far as this supposed email that was disgusting sent to Overnite's website I'm clueless - obviously one of you talentless ruffians decided to ghost write an email on my behalf to make me look bad. I can be nasty all by my self folks - don't need your help. And to the president of Overnite, if you can get your sexatery in the office to help you with the big words then I'd like a response right here and now. You all owe me big time, you don't think you owe me money? FINE, you do owe me an apology for the lousy service, runaround on the phone, damaged item as you were the carrier, and the rudeness of your driver that had no business taking off its crating and coming back the next day to leave it in the alley - he could have done that the first day and shaved off a days delay! Your lack of response tells me that your typing finger is lodged someplace warm and snuggly. Maybe I should just write you personally everyday heck lets make it 15-25 letters per day to slow down your mail room and pay employees to shuffle 'nonsense' letters around your company. I get free meter mail. Or maybe we should go with calling you directly to just tie up your lines for hours at a time, like I can't find some illegals to call you with cell phones all day for a bag of groceries. You need to send a written apology to me as I deserve it. OVERNITE SUX OVERNITE SUX OVERNITE SUX OVERNITE SUX OVERNITE SUX - dangerous drivers, damaged goods, inept phone operators with heads of wood, overnite for your trucking needs, smoking up tight rolled seeds, we tear up your items, we tear 'em up good, our people can't read - but it's all good, so call us up and we'll f*%k it up, and make sure that it's laaaaaate, so call overnite for your trucking needs hey who gives a sh$t about integrity? Did you know that Chris Koehler at 3400 Refugee Rd. Columbus, Ohio 43232 is the man that can solve these problems yet I still have yet to hear from him? Big surprise. The song above doesn't quite work but hey a couple of flunkies in your outfit and I think you've got a good commercial for television. Maybe show a couple of spider monkeys driving the truck with sunglasses on, driving rusty broken down trucks. Then a whole bunch of them can just start pushing items out of the back of the truck while driving down an alley. That's pretty much what I think of when I hear OVERNITE trucking. Hey I see a resemblance Monkey's fling crap and that's what your company did to me. Then Zsa Zsa Gabor can stand at the back of the trailer and say "Dahling, what do you expect from a freight carrier? Integrity? Character? Honesty? Dahling that all costs extra at OVA-NITE." Then you put up your website and your phone number and anyone that wants screwed with an elephants rod will call you right away to move their antiques and restaraunt equipment. If you hear a splash that's the higher up's at OVERNITE sitting on the toilet in their headquarters thinking real hard - only they passed their brains into the toilet. So now they sit their like zombies - unable to help customers that have been wronged. OVERNITE trucks are OLD.

Dear L in Virginia....again...

#14Author of original report

read the details my friend. When he showed up on the 13th to dump it he personally ripped off all the original QUALITY crating job that was done by someone else. BEFORE he knew I was even home. Plus with a lift gate and a pallet mover - why tear down the completely good crate job? There is no reason. As for your website and the 23 wonderful people who competed in the Columbus, Ohio Truck Driver Olympics good for them, my niece has a black belt in the Special Olympics, it doesn't mean she can kick my butt. Again if your idiot driver follows all the rules that everyone keeps empahsizing i.e. broken driveway, powerlines, freight to freight, then why didn't he just dump the item in the alley the first day he was here? Any ideas anyone? UM maybe because he told me he'd take care of everything that was on the BOL the next day with the proper equipment? Otherwise he would have just left it in the alley the first delivery attempt. Does anyone in Richmond Virginia know how to read a paragraph or letter and take any facts away from it? If I was going to get crappy service like I received I could have gotten it in its original packaging, a day earlier than he delivered it, UNDAMAGED and oh yeah, my nose wouldn't have been burning from the Mr. Sloshy. So why doesn't everyone down in VA get the point that you DID F this one up and if you were so right why was he ordered to come back to my house? If everyone is so sure that he'd be breaking the "road rules" of trucking are you all telling me that Overnite was willing to disobey their insurance underwriter to accomodate lil' ol' me? Duh people. Overnite wouldn't send him back just to quiet me if it was "against regulations with federal laws, city ordinances, and insurance regulations" it was because they realized they are F-up's, the driver probably has a history of mental problems and also if he can just dump and run why did he come back with a smaller truck? To do me a favor? That's what I'm being told over and over again, and everyone is also saying "it's a freight company - dock to dock". I truly hope someone else posts soon of how ignorant, dumb, and ridiculous some of you are about not reviewing the true facts. He came once, he came back a second day with a different truck, with my item out of its good quality crating job (yes that I saw him finish tearing off the day before in the back of the truck), he was rude, he came back to put the item in the garage and left again, and then Overnite wants me to be nice about this situation? Well guess what - I have a new enemy and I drive all over this country and on the freeway's of life Overnite trucks can kiss it in the crack because me and my Dodge ain't lettin' them over. When they're all 'sleepin' on the service roads of rest stops I'll be blowin' my loud as hell horn and making them all more mentally disturbed. Hopefully we'll get a real bad winter and I can enjoy seeing them all jack-knife on the freeway. It'll make national news and then everyone can see the quality of driver OVERNITE hires. Of course that wouldn't happen to the Truck Driver Olympiads now would it - overnite is so professional. Hey L in VA if you're the man of Overnite why don't you do what you know I deserve and that is a formal apology written and addressed to my house. The above facts to indicate obvious nonsense from your company, phone operators and your driver. That is all I want. If you don't do that then yours haven't descended yet.

outrageous, filthy and unprofessional

#14UPDATE Employee

Mon, April 19, 2004

I have read a letter that was submitted to our company regarding this situation, and found it to be filthy and unprofessional.

It is unfortunate that you feel that you were not "accomadated" to your standards, but I must rehash what someone noted previously, Overnite is a freight company, not a moving company, our equipment is better suited to use for dock to dock delivery. When delivering to a neighborhood locale, there are many liaiblities to consider, including road condtions, power lines, even down to landscaping.

I also want to address your issue on how the shipment was packaged, please be advised, that Overnite DOES NOT package the freight that we pick up, so if the packaging was not up to your standards, then you should absolutely bring this up with whomever you ordered this from off of Ebay.

As for your report of the driver being "drunk" when he deliverd this, I truly consider this defamation of character, and feel that this is extremely uncalled for, if you felt that this driver was operating while intoxicated, than you should have reported this to either the Service Center Manager or the local authorities. I can guarantee you that our drivers are fully trained, and have been included in some of the best in the country, please note our webiste, which includes 23 drivers who competed in the 2003 National Truck Driving Championships, which were held in your hometown of Columbus, OH.

I am not going to do any name calling, because I do realize that when Overnite does deliver to residences, there is quite a bit that can be confused. Let me advise you though, that if you plan to ship again, whomever the carrier might be, it is SO worth your while to visit the websites, and review the tariffs, it is very important to know what the rules and regulations freight companies have, some of these are government rules and regulations.

My advice, please rethink the letters that you write, as you are signing your name to this. I understand that you are frustrated, but it is not healthy to completely fly off the handle and threaten people when you do not fully have all of the information that you should have had before shipping freight in the first place.

Thank you for your time.

for your convenience and to not disturb the monkey i will use all lower case letters from here on OUT! oops. Again, I'm 31, no I'm not 16 and yes it did come from ebay. i don't have a problem with zits below the waist line or on my face. if you do then you should make your boyfriend stop spuking on your back and bottom. also if you've ever lived in a 'questionable' neigborhood - the hoodrats will walk in front of traffic, skateboard and bike anywhere and for your information, i own, u probably are using the public library computers while your men's open shelter is busy cleaning the lice off of your floor mattress. as for typing skills you should really stop atttempting to type with your hypespadius. funny you don't mention the witnesses agreeing that he was most likely drunk still! big surprise! also, the "UPS sized truck" i spoke of was a direct quote from the hill-billy trucker himself. i am aware he is not a moving company or a parcel service yet he had all the tools to do the job and said he would. by the way, yes i'll put anyone including family in harms way for my benefit because well - i'm just that type of guy, many people think i'm an a##hole and i'm doing great in life just the way i am. granted, my accolades in my education have helped get me into this super-ego mindset but its people like me that make your everyday living more easy. insignifcant people such as yourself that have nothing better to do than stir yourself up over someone else's situation amuses me and gives me a channel for my rapier wit. thank you. i mainly posted this to let everyone know that apparently no one at Overnite cares about their backwoods inebriated driver - and that is what concerns me most. since, i have found a trucking company 'that used one of them thar UPS sized trucks' or would you prefer box van to transport the item to its final destination. at this point i'm having fun being verbally abusive to people like you who don't wash their hands after taking a dump, and then wonder why they are sick 6-7 times per year. so go d****e your little sister and do what you do best on friday nights with your polaroid and internet service and i'll look forward to hearing from you soon. love me ;)

Ok...there are a few things that need to be addressed. I'm gonna take an opportunity to step through this bozo's letter and really try and make sense of this for everyone who had to read it.

"On April 13th Overnite was to deliver a 255 pound package from Texas to me in Columbus Ohio. I was taking delivery of this item for my elderly parents for their business. The delivery driver arrives in a semi. We were told he would come in a UPS sized truck WITH a lift gate. "

Lets break this down. For anyone who knows anything about shipping then that had to make you chuckle. You are -surprised- that the shipment came in a semi? Last time I checked Overnite trasnportation was a freight carrier, -not- a moving company or parcel carrier. Yes there are different kinds. Learn the difference. Knoweldge is power, educate yourself. Also what exactly is a "UPS sized truck" Next time I need to rent a van for something I'll be sure to ask the guy for one of them there "UPS sized trucks"

"Our paperwork also stated that it was to be delivered to our garage. "

Once again, this is coming from a freight carrier. A carrier that is set up for business to business, dock to dock moving. Once again your stuck ont he whole semi with no liftgate thing. I know the trucks are big and neat, and even shiny sometimes, but please lets focus here. You state he shows up alone. I'm guessing you need assistance when your driving? Like those drivers ed cars...you know the ones with the -really- big rear view and the right side break? He is a truck -driver- He drives the truck. He is not a material handler. Of course he will show up alone. Now the dolly is somewhat valid. It's always a good idea for a driver to have a hand truck, but once again how many docks are not going to have their own. Further more it is the responsibilty of the consignee (thats a fancy word for person receiving the freight)to off-load the shipment, not the carriers. I'm sure the driver didnt expect you to pull the freight off the back of the trailer. I don't know you but from your description you sound like a little little man. Thats just silly...

"He shows up on the afternoon of the 14th with a smaller truck and it has a lift gate. I first greet him and ask him if he can back in his truck to my driveway - he has plenty of room and in fact in preparation for his arrival, we paid professionals to come to our house and remove a tree from the corner of our driveway so that any truck could make the angle. He said "No!" "

Ok this sounds much beter. Everyone is on the same oage. You have your liftgate and now the delivery can take place. Oh wait whats this? You want him to back a truck into your driveway? He says no!? GASP!!! I think someone else covered this but I'll reiterate. Bringing a truck ,be it a 28,48,53 or maybe even one of them there "UPS sized trucks", into your driveway is not the best idea. I doubt your driveway is stress tested for that kind of weight and even vibration that would be cause by a trailer during a live unload. Freight carriers reserve the right to -not- place their equipment and personell in positions where there may be a liability. Once again educate yourself, you'll go far!

"He then proceeded to get in the back of the truck where I see that my package has already had its crating and straps removed and has been wrapped (ONLY THE SIDES AND TOP) in cardboard which was cheesily taped on. He puts the pallet on the lift gate, lowers the item to the alley pavement pushes it off - AND THAT WAS IT!!! He left a $1500.00 item right in the middle of a busy alley that people fly up at 45 mph everyday!"

So you were there when the shipment was packed? How do you -know- that the shipments packaging had been removed. Thats a pretty bold statement to make. Maybe you can assure me that you were there when the freight was packed...but probably not. Moving onward. I have some issues with the statement "He left a $1500.00 item right in the middle of a busy alley that people fly up at 45 mph everyday!" Where exactly do you live? Is your house -that- close to an alley? Also an alley according to Websters is a narrow street; especially : a thoroughfare through the middle of a block giving access to the rear of lots or buildings. Your telling me people tear through an alley at 45 mph? I would more worried about getting hit by a car or having my poor elderly parents hit by a car!! Priorities my friend...priorities.

"I asked him "Aren't you going to take it up to the garage with the pallet mover?" He said he wasn't "authorized to do so." I showed him the bill of lading that CLEARLY STATED THAT IT WAS TO BE DELIVERED FROM COMMERCIAL TO RESIDENTIAL BEING DROPPED OFF AT THE GARAGE. My garage was still 45-50 feet away!"

I take back everything I said. You have a bol that means you -must- have been there when the freight picked up too! I feel like such a moroon...wait....no...no I don't. This bol that "clearly states to be delivered from commercial to residential being dropped off at the garage" (notice that the sentence is still just as effective without the use of caps lock, where did you get it from. Let me guess the shipper? Did you check the drivers copy of the delivery receipt? Did you call the shipper to find out why the carrier was not instructed? Oh no..makes too much sense. You did this...

"So I immediately got on the phone with his company as the driver pulled away and the Manager for Overnite - Mike Carc (Carr,Cark) or something anyway some MAJORLY inept high school educated drop-out flunkie gets on the phone and informs me that my bill of lading is incorrect (which by the way is a carbon copy of his copy) and that he was to drop it off only at my house. I have a problem with this statement of Mike's as leaving an item worth $1500.00 in a busy alley in not the best neighborhood is HARDLY DELIVERING IT TO MY HOUSE!"

CONSUMER ALERT!!! Here is a tip to ANYONE that getting any type of delivery. If you are having difficulties with your order, call your vendor FIRST. They have the business relationship with the carrier, not you. That being said... You spoke to the "Manager of Overnite" Mike something or other...thats not important. I checked their website Mike whomever is not "The" manager of Overnite. That may have been part of your problem. I'm sure Mike is a nice enough guy, but for someone of your obvious mental capacities and firm grasp on trucking..you needed to go to the top and accept nothing less. Your such a tool. My apologies for that, I promised myself I would not resort to name calling, unlike your friend here who's only course of action seems to be spitting fourth the most inept drivel I have read in quite some time. I digress, back to the "facts" I'd like to see a copy of "your" bol compared to what the carrier recieved. I would be willing to bet my first born child that they are different! Again you refer to this alley as a high traffic and now dangerous place. I'm htinking once you get this taken care of you might want to consider relocating. Just a suggestion.

"So I called my mother who is in no condition to be putting up with this nonsense over to 'gaurd' the package while I argue with this cromagnon man Mike who apparently has the mindpower to dimly light a firefly's a*s. He refuses to give back any of the money even though OVERNITE has not honored their delivery agreement and have treated us horribly. He says he'll track down the driver Dave Kerry, who by the way reaked of alcohol when he was down on the pavement by me, if he wasn't a drunk then he must have diabetes with bad breath, and make him go back to move it into my garage."

Now your just getting silly. You called your mother. How old are you? Assuming your old enough to only have pimples below the waist line, one would think that you would be able to handle this situation. Come on man you made your mom stand guard in an alley. And not just any alley mind you. Were talking the alley where cars race through at 45 mph and it's not in the best part of town!? Unreal!!! Now, let me ask this. Were -you- directly paying Overnite for the freight? I'm guessing not after seeing the other rebuttals. That being the case how can you expect them to refund you? I'd really like to hear this. My guess would be your getting jerked around by your vendor. Now was there any reason to make a comment like that about the driver. I know your angry, but resorting to grade school name calling. Come on now. By the way what does having diabetes have to do with bad breath? Just wondering.

Since this next paragraph is lone I'm going to break it up.
"While my mother and I wait on this no talent a*s clown to come back and finish his job after his boss and to call him and tell him to do his job,"

"a*s clown" Oh yeah thats appropriate. At least try and make it sound eloquent. I like Rectal Clodhopper myself. Just sounds more educated. Honeslty I'm surprised that they were sending a driver back out to deal with you. Although I guess I shouldnt be too surprised. From reading your notes here you seem to have wit and charm the likes of which I don't think can be duplicated.

"I get some big guys that witnessed this whole thing at Eddie's Glass Shop, slide it out of the street for me. "

"Big guys" "a*s clown" Very attached to his mother...I'm no math matician but I think I just put 2 and 2 together and got 4! And it's bright purple 4 too...

"While we waited and waited I got back on the phone to complain to Mike again as this driver may not show up until nightfall and I wanted to know if I could get a timeframe - I get hung up on."

You assume that the driver was just sitting around waiting to come back to your home/slum thingy. Does it not occur that he has other deliveries to make? Have you ever tried calling Fedex or UPS if they don't deliver your shipment. You know what they tell you. It'll be back tomorrow. Even if they gave you the -wrong- package, "We'll get it tomorrow" It's becoming painfully obvious you truly do not understand shipping. For the record I would hang up on you too if you referred to me as a nincompoop grobian!

"I wait another 45 minutes and lo and behold here comes Dave the driver again. Only Eddie's Glass guys have parked two vans in the alley just before my driveway to unload their work vans."

Did you ask them to move the vans? No...once again makes too much sense.

"Well the OVERNITE driver cannot see the package sitting on the pallet behind my brick wall, he doesn't EVEN GET OUT TO LOOK OR TO KNOCK ON MY DOOR, he just sees he can't go through the alley so he starts backing up! I run out the door and he has it turned around and guns it up my street! Now mind you he's driving about a 30 foot package/box truck, no one drives like that especially with all the kids that are around on bikes and skateboards. He then puts on his flashers and sits there at the end of my block and watches me in his mirrors."

Wait...I thought that was a bad area of town? Now we have blue skies and birds singing and children holding hands in the streets? I mean a truck "gunning it" as you put it makes more noise than it does speed. You can get to what like 5 mph in 1st gear in a straight truck. What about all those crazy people tearing through the alley at 45 mph. How do the kids feel about those people?

"So I start walking up my street while waiting on hold again on my phone with OVERNITE trying to talk to Mike about a refund - and get this - THE b*****d TAKES OFF!!"

I'm sure the driver knows who is father is.

"So I stand gaurd on the package until my Sherrif Deputy neighbor comes home who is a big dude and he calls his courthouse buddy three blocks away who has a dolly and they come over and put it in my garage for me."

It's a good thing you have so many large men-friends. Seriously though, otherwise you may have had to get your mom help you move the freight.

"So beware anyone who does business on eBay or regularly uses OVERNITE trucking. Their name says it all OVERNITE is how long you'll be there gaurding your stuff so that it doesn't get stolen or run over by traffic. They don't care, they hire drunks apparently and thugs that take no pride in their job or themselves. They are a vindictive company that is only interested in taking your money."

Ahhh now it all makes sense...your ordered off eBay! Your probably 16? You order from someone who you have no business relationship with. They probably do not have much experience with shipping. Or...hold on for it...YOU GOT SCAMMED!! But no, of course -everyone- on ebay is perfeclth legit and without fault.
By the way you do realize that you could be sued for slander right. Making accusations such as "they hire drunks and thugs" without proof. Did you get your deputiy friend do to a field sobriety test. I'm sure the driver is no more a thug than the goons from Eddies Glass shop. I repeat, again, because you just don't get it, did you directly pay Overnite? I'm still thinking not..in fact I'm thinking -you- don't pay for anything. Mommy paid for it didnt she...yeah she did.

"My parents paid over $300 for this service and anyone knows I could have done it better for that much money. I think that everyone should take note that I've used Old Dominion Freight Lines before and I should have used them again this time."

I was right!!! $300 is ALOT for shipping. Perhaps you may want to get with your "seller" from eBay. Sound slike your there making some nice profit off of your mom.
"Oh yes, how could I forget, there is a huge dent in the side of the metal cabinet of this item, I guess they don't care that I needed to make a claim as I still have yet to hear from them. They don't respond to voicemails or my emails."

So wait if you get in a car wreck you want your insurance company to call you to file the claim. Hello! McFly? Does that make sense to anyone else?

"DON'T USE THEM YOU WILL REGRET IT, if you even had a complaint the management is as crooked as their small brained drivers, Mike doesn't feel he owes us any refund whatsoever. If I took a pizza order from you and delivered it to the corner drugstore near your house would you think you should have to pay for it? It is an incomplete transaction, I received no service, was treated rudely, and worse yet no one there cares that they took our money, dented our product, delayed our shipment with a promise from the same driver that he would come back the next day with equipment that would enable him to complete the job, only to have it sit in the street"

Again, with the money. Since this is the end I will address it one last time. Your pizza anaology has no bearing on this. Your comparing apples to oranges. You sound like a broken record. I can appreciate that you were dissatisfied in your delivery, but for godsakes man don't act like a spoiled twelve year old that didnt get his way. Be a man, get things done. Be professional, don't resort to name calling and slander, and story telling.

I sincerly hope Ripoffreport.com will post this. There credibilty is at sake to. If you left drivel like this post get heard then you need to let consumers opinions be voiced too. Otherwise I may have to report you to yourselves! That'd make a great post wouldnt it!

Fri, April 16, 2004

Dear Patrick get someone to help you read this again...

#14Author of original report

Fri, April 16, 2004

Obviously you are the loser and you do not know how to read. The original bill of lading DOES state that they will put it IN the garage! I have a GRAVEL driveway, so there was no risk of damage to concrete - bright boy. My parents are in their late 60's and are in no physical condition to move it and for your information I pay my own bills as I am a chemist for Abbott Laboratories in Columbus, Ohio. In fact I have more intelligence in my little toe than you apparently have in your whole genetic makeup. I have my Masters in Physics from Ohio State. What do you have? I apologize you might have a G.E.D. I don't need anyone to pay my bills, if you read the facts I'm obviously taking delivery for my parents so they wouldn't have to put up with any moving. DUH! You're a what? A former truck driver turned truck stop fluffer? Yeah, thought so. So when you figure out how to solve for x and can read beyond an eighth grade level come back to this site and re-read it. No I didn't want my hand held, I simply wanted the service that the BOL clearly states. I don't like delivery men that reak of alcohol which I don't think in all your brightness you would condone either (Patrick, condone means you accept or approve of something - there you go!) especially as a former driver, and you would not be happy either if your item was DAMAGED and left in the alley. No I do not expect them to bring it in my house, not putting it in my garage can be expected, but I'm going with what the BOL and the driver told me they'd do and then didn't do. If you are a former driver then tell me on how many occassions did you leave items in traffic? If you were good probably never right? A driveway approach would have been better than the alley. So since you are a former trucker, and most likely also an alcoholic hill-jack with a dog, a porno collection and a wife with 7 good teeth and 4 smelling oozing ones, then maybe you see no fault with Overnite's actions - but I have a piece of paper that says they didn't fulfill their obligations, photos of the damaged item, and witnesses to his staggering, slurred speech, incompetence (Patrick that means - he doesn't do his job very well!) and a verbal statement from him the day before that backing the truck up to the garage and having the correct tools to put it in would be no problem. So when your Hooked on Phonics arrives and YOUR lazy-eyed, hammer-toed, web-handed father helps you open the box - then maybe you can come back in here and find out what all these letters mean. Good boy! :) Now go have some roasted possum over your trash pile fire you inbred, illiterate gender illusionist. MMM-mmm that's good eatin'.

also...

When you start a sentence like this one, it needs a Capital letter. Company is how the word is spelled not companie. I did have a cold last week but I am not normally snot nosed. I'm also very sorry you've spent most of your life in the trucking industry but keep your head up you may get to be lettuce washing boy at McDonalds real soon. So if you want to call me a bozo and a snot nosed brat and whatever else you said that is perfectly fine with me. I don't know why you would defend an inebriated driver. Inebriated means he was intoxicated Patrick. Oh yes, even if I had a concrete driveway the small truck he came back the second day on wouldn't have damaged the cement. That was the whole reason he came back the second time, so he could have a lightweight easily maneuverable vehicle to back up WITH a lift gate. Your letter makes you sound like you were rude to a lot of customers and you spent a lot of time insulting how "unintelligent" everyone else is when it comes to shipping and trucking. That's fine, I can understand your frustration as it would get old after a while but, to stand my ground my BOL states they'd bring it in the garage.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, my parents hired them directly not through a middle-man, they've owned their own business for years, how ignorant do you think we are? By the way we've ordered other things before through a freight line and it wasn't something from eBay. WE didn't get service like this then and it was from a real trucking company - Old Dominion. They were good, so most likely you didn't work for them.

#14UPDATE Employee

Fri, April 16, 2004

So I come across Peter's bogus report against my company in an email that was passed all thru my department today, and all I can do is laugh myself silly. I, as well as the rest of my department, find little 'ol Pete's story to be a BIG joke. First of all, he's a bit deluded, and has no idea what he's talking about. Overnite is one of the best freight companies around. We have great employees, awesome benefits and pay, and we have a ton of customers that love us. We do not hire people like he made Dave out to be, as that would be a waste of our time, and would be bad for business. All this nonsense he is spreading cracks me up. I really hope that his intention was to make us howl with laughter. His comments mean nothing to us, seriously. We cater to many people, including residents and the like. We strive to make sure that our customers are kept happy and satisfied. Peter is unhappy with our services, and now he's acting a fool and talking trash like a ten year old. Seriously, Peter, what kind of person who has "been in business 8 years" would use such foul language with a professional company? I wish I could share the letter that you posted on our website with all the nice folks whose time you have wasted. If you aren't happy with our services, don't use us. You have many options out there. Oh yeah, and you might want to get with the company you hired that hired us. You say you paid them $300 for shipping? I think they might have F'd you in the A, buddy. Now, before I end this, there are just a few points I need to make to you, my little ignorant friend: 1- You need to go to the company you hired for the refund since you paid them and not us; 2- You need to get your facts straight before you play hardball with a multi million dollar company; 3-Grow up! No one likes a cry baby.

OVERNITE also RIPPED us OFF and damaged our item

#14Consumer Comment

Thu, April 15, 2004

My wife and I had a pinball machine ordered from Oklahoma once two years ago. When it arrived the very thick glass on the machine was busted. It was probably because when he opened the truck up at our store the package was on its side! They denied that it was their fault and filing a damage claim with them was hell. No one wanted to help us and we got the contiunous run around. My wife was 'intimidated' by her driver also into signing the delivery receipt and became very beligerent when she requested 15 more minutes to inspect for more damage. Although it is a different driver than who you describe I will agree that their hiring practices need help to say the least. Our kind of looked and acted like an ex-con with all of his tattoos and his attitude. It was nearly 4-1/2 months before we got a letter of apology; we never got our money back and we were never paid anything for damages. So we had to shell out another $150.00 to purchase new pinball machine glass. We had it shipped by UPS - a company that knows how to do business, but again, their load limit is 150lbs. so they could never have brought our pinball to us in the first place. I agree, anyone that reads this should use a different carrier - they are dishonest! Everyone else post your horror story about this company and lets do to them what everyone on eBay knows about ForwardAir.

Comming from years of working in the freight business

#14Consumer Comment

Thu, April 15, 2004

I have been in the trucking buisness for the majority of my working life, mostly in the administrative and operations side. I know from experience that most of these Idiot customers that get all bent out of shape with freight carriers, are usualy uneducated about the freight moving business. This person being one of them.

They feel like they are to be pampered and treated in some special manner and there hand stroked to make the deliver process some "feel good" experience. when in fact the freight moving industrie is set up for business to business moves but in order to facilitate their customers they will deliver to a residence but they are not moving companies, and they are not going to do everything the residence wants because of regulations and insurance reasons, the fact that he wanted the driver to back up his driveway and was refused is because these trucks weigh alot more than a car and will in most cases damage a thinly poured concrete driveway so to avoid a lawsuit most companies will refuse. The fact that the customer wanted the driver to put the freight in his garage, that is not the responsibility of the freight moving company unless an inside deliver was specified by the party that is paying the trucking company on the original bill of lading(BOL)The company is only responsible to get it off the end of the truck and from that point it is the customers job..This bozo, since he obviously got his item off of e-bay, thinks that he is the paying party for the trucking company, but he is probably, or I should say his parents, since they are paying his bills for him(loser),are probably paying another company that in turn, hired overnite, and that company is the paying company to overnite! And if there was damage on the freight, and he noted it at the time of delivery on the deliver reciept that he had to sign, he can file a claim with the company(its not their resposibility to file it for him because as far as they know unless he files a claim the object must be usable and everything is o.k. next time if this uneducated snot nosed spoiled mammas boy wants to get a warm and fuzzy feeling from his delivery he should hire a moving company that will cost alot more than what he(his mommy and daddy) paid a freight company. I am sure everyone has their problems with the way certain companies do business but the main thing is it is the way the companie does business and most have websites that publish their tarrifs and explain the way the do business, and if a "virgin" user is going to utilize that companies services they should find out about the company first. and dont make shipping decisions based on who is cheaper but by the services you want.if you pay a freight company to move your freight your not gonna get a maoving companies services, they are not going to personaly wrap your piece in a blanket, and deliver it to your house and place it where you want it and unpack it for you and carry away any trash. They move freight. and the guy made some pretty bold accusations in his little crybaby report that he should be more carefull he could get a defamation of carachter lawsuit! To all freight carriers...good job! america keeps rolling because you guys get the commodities there! even to jerks like this little spoiled rotten mamma's boy!!***Support or troops!!!***
