I purchased a watch from Overstock.com for 60.00 plus tax.
I received the watch about 10 days later. When I got the watch it was not working and had to take it to a jewler to put in a new battery. It should have come working the watch retailes for 395.00 it is a lecien picard watch heavy stainless steel water resistant appeared to be nice. After only a week and a half of owning the watch it started to fall apart. One of the glow in the dark time indicators fell off and was flopping around the inside after that I noticed that the clock was no longer ticking i tried to wind the watch and the crown came completly off. After all that I notice also that there is condensation in the watch. Now this watch is supposed to be water resistant or proof. I called overstock with my concerns and they told me the watch was under warranty and there was no problem just send it back for a refund. I did as i was instructed and sent it back on the 6/21/05 it was recieved on 6/23/05 i called today 7/07/05 and was first told they had no record. Then located my info after getting upset they tell me the watch has been sent back to me and its not covered they say there was heat damage and water on the inside no one could explain how water is in a water proof watch. I am not responsible for the heat on the delivery truck. Nor am I responsible for faulty craftmanship the crown the seisure of the watch and not being water resistant or proof and pieces falling off on the inside. The supervisor had no logical excuse as to all the other problems of the watch the only statement they can seem to make is it had water inside and there was heat damage. This watch only saw water breifly from my job to my car and my car to my house in a storm not heavy. never been subjected to heat other than return delivery. So now i have a expensive piece of crapp that I cant even ware. I also like to state they were going to drop this watch back on me with no notification or reason why it was being sent back I had to call after 2 weeks to find out they were pretty mutch telling me to f-off and live with it. I wish things would have gone diffrent but it did not so buyer beware. My point to managment was if i bought a non stick frying pan and everything i cooked stuck to the pan I deserve a refund because the product does not do what it says. the watch is suppose to tell time it did not after a week and a half it did not stay together and it did not resist water. You decide.

You get what you pay for. And if something is over 80% off there is a reason it is marked so cheap. If you feel wronged try going after the shipping company. If the watch is as expensive as you claim it should have been insured.
