Overstock.com is the recipient of a staggering 280 complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau. The California District Atorney recently requested that Superior County Court order that Overstock.com pay a $15 million fine because they "routinely and systematically made untrue and misleading comparative advertising claims about the prices of its products and the prices which other merchants charge for the identical products offered by Overstock. Overstock's representations were likely to mislead consumers into believing that Overstock's prices were significantly lower than the prices offered by other merchants for the identical products, and that consumers would enjoy a significant savings by purchasing those products from Overstock instead of from other merchants." Recently, I ordered an electronic device for a seemingly bargain price. What I received was a vastly inferior version with a slightly different model number. I returned the item the day that I received it, but Overstock.com has thus far refused to refund my purchase price. Thusly, I have no choice but to endure the aggravating, gargantuan, time-wasting task of disputing the purchase with my credit card company. AVOID DEALING WITH OVERSTOCK.COM UNLESS YOU ENJOY BEING CHEATED, DECEIVED, AND LIED TO!
