Complaint Review: Owens Corning Basement Finishing System

We had our basement done with the Owens Corning system and we were told by the sales person who is now the manager that our foundation would be checked by the installer and we would be notified of any cracks so that we could repair them.

The installer gave no indication that the foundation had any cracks and proceeded to install the product.

This spring we have discovered 3 cracks in the foundation that were present at the time of installaion but were not reported.

We have repaired the cracks ourselves. I have contacted Owens Corning and advised them of the problem. The manager told us twice that this check is done, however it was not done since our foundation repair fellow informed us the cracks did not just happen this Spring.

I have called and left messages but of course no one returns my calls,the head installer has denied that anyone said they checked the foundation, but only 1 week ago the manager repeated this to me over the phone.

I am seeking compensation for the crack repair and the damage to my sub floor but not likely anything will happen.

I will not recommend this product to anyone and I am spreading the word about the shady business practises that they are using.

After filing this report on Ripoff Report.com we received a phone call and a visit from the Customer Service Representative and Sales Manager from Owens Corning.
They listened to our concerns and offered to make amends.The situation has been rectified to our satisfaction.
