Purchased Technicolor Wireless Telephone Modem (Comcast/Xfinity)in April 2014 from Ownyourcablemodem.com for $139.95.  Web site stated "new", 60 days money back, "this modem has been approved by Comcast and several other cable internet providers", with the following warning "Watch out for sellers who are selling used modems you can't use that are listed in companies leasing inventories!! We back ours up with a money back guarantee!!"

Modem arrived in 2 days priority mail from Aaron Kocherans in Orem, UT. Appeared new altho no original packaging.  Email arrived immediately after the purchase to many other email address indicating how to set up the modem without using a Comcast technician.  I called Comcast to set it up.  Technician tried to set it up but told me it would not work as the equipment was on the inventory list of Comcast and owned by someone in Georgia.  I contacted Comcast Corporate and they stated they do not sell their equipment or any item that says Comcast/Xfinity on it   A label on the modem stated it was owned by Comcast and not to be resold.

I notifed Aaron and he stated it was just Comcast's bad inventory records.

I contacted Comcast again, notified the Orem Police Depart, the FCC, IC-3 Internet crimes, USPS, and Ebay and Amazon.com where the company stated it was a "power seller".  I also notifed BigCommerce, their web site and payment company.  I notifed American Express who cancelled the sale while under investigation.   I mailed the equipment back within 60 days and have not received my "guaranteed refund".

Other web sites report this indivual for the same thing and that Aaron tells you to mail the returned item onto the next customer on their list, instead of back to the company.

They continually change their web site name when more people start reporting them.  They are now using Dontleaseyourmodem.com as the web site for Ownyourownmodem.com.  BEWARE!!!!

I purchased my cable modem combo phone November 2014. Received the product within 3 days. It came packaged like new with setup instructions for Comcast cable. Installation was easy and have had no trouble with the product. I have recommended others to this company and they have purchased similar product again no problems.

I purchased the exact same modem from Dontleaseyourmodem.com and followed the instructions that they gave me and had no problems.  I was told by the Comcast tech that thier supervisors tell them to try and come up with excuses for not allowing a rented modem, but sure enought I have save hundreds of dollars now and could help but post after seeing what people were trying to say about this company.  DO YOUR RESEARCH PEOPLE AND DON'T BELIEVE WHAT COMCAST TELLS YOU!
