I am issuing a complaint against Oz Heating & Plumbing. On January 4, 2002 Mr. Ozman Chankar of Oz Heating & Plumbing came over our house to inspect a problem that we were having with our
water pump. I explained to Mr. Chankar that we were not getting any water pressure, that our pump was running constantly without shutting off and that we were having water leaking through our
foundation. Mr. Chankar diagnosed the problem as a broken line running from the well, under- ground, connecting to the water pump. He told us that he would need a down payment of $ 600.00
so that he could rent the equiptment that he would need to dig up a new water line and install it.

We had done business with Mr. Chankar previously so we assumed that we could trust him with his diagnosis and with our down payment. I asked Mr. Chankar if we could run the pump for a
short period of time and he told us that it wouldn't be a problem as long as we shut the pump off afterwards.

Later that day my wife Kathy and myself noticed ice next to the foundation near the area of the water pump. At first we thought it was probably caused form the line bursting, but upon further
inspection we noticed that the outside hose had not been shut off. When I turned on the pump shortly after shutting the outside faucet off I noticed that it was working normally and that there was no more leaking through the foundation.

Early the next morning I called my father-in-law from work and told him to make sure that he had Mr. Chankar examine the problem again due to the change in circumstances. Mr. Chankar arrived two hours later than he had previously told us, leaving the workers with the rental equiptment waiting for him. When he finally arrived he rediagnosed the problem being a broken outside hose, not a broken water line.

My father-in-law felt bad that Mr. Chankar had come over for nothing so he had him replace a pressure gauge on our water pump. Mr. Chankar told us that he had cashed our check already but that he would return the money that was owed to us.

I waited two days for a reply from Mr. Chankar and received none, so I proceeded to call him. He did not answer his phone so I lert him a messege. The next day Mr. Chankar returned my call
informing me that he would have to charge me $59.00 for the rentals, approximately $8.00 for the pressure gauge and labor for the short time he was here. I told him that I had no problem paying a reasonable amount for the little work he had done and even for the rental equiptment (even though none of it was used on our premises).

We came to an agreement on the issue and he told me that he would be over the next day with the money he owed us.

I waited a couple of days and after no reply from Mr. Chankar I called him and left a messege tell- ing him that if he could return my call as soon as possible that I would really ppreciate it. There again was no reply from Mr. Chankar so I called him again asking him to please return my call.

Once again Mr. Chankar did not return my call. For the next two weeks I called him every other day, leaving him messeges and letting him know that I really wanted to rectify the problem, but
that if he was going to continue to avoid my calls that I would be forced to take further action.

Mr. Chankar has not contacted me since and that is why I am coming to you with my problem.

I would appreciate it very much if you could help me rectify this problem. I have photo copied the check that was cashed along with Mr. Chankar's business card.

Thank you very much for your time.
