I recently went to PA auto connection to buy a vehicle. I spoke to a saleman who identified himself as Ed. I told him I had a bankruptcy. I asked if he could help me with credit. I filled out an application and told him I could come up with $1000 down. After 10 minutes Ed told me I was approved for anything on the lot. I saw a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee I liked. I asked if I could get it for under $300 a month. He said no problem. I was told the bank would require a copy of my Chapter 7 discharge order. I didn't have the discharge order and said as soon as it came in I would return with it. I gave them $400 cash and promised to come up with the other $600 when I received the discharge order.

After a month, the discharge order came in. Two days later I headed to the dealer to pick up my Jeep. As I entered the lot, I saw my jeep sitting on the front line. It had nothing on it to show that it was sold. I thought that was kind of odd considering Ed told me it would be removed so noone else could buy it. I walked in and gave Ed my discharge papers. I told him I would pay the balance of the down payment with a credit card.

This is when I got to meet Tony Manzo, the finance manager. He seemed to be a nice guy but turned out to be a nasty "little" man and the head crook. He told me the Jeep was sold last week and gave me a list of other cars to look at. I was shown a 97 Ford Explorer. The interior was horrible.

The previous owner had a dog that tried to eat the dashboard. Just for general knowledge I asked Tony Manzo how much. $12,000, $448 a month for 39 months. 21% interest, total over $18,000!!!!!!!!!! I said I'll think about it. The next day I returned for my deposit. Tony Manzo said no way (he was standing next to the Jeep I originally wanted which I was told was sold).
