PACIFIC ATLANTIC FREIGHT PACIFIC ATLANTIC INSURANCE EXTRA CHARGES ALONE 2.6 TIMES ORIGINAL QUOTE Westlake Village , California
I contacted Pacific Atlantic Insurance regarding a shippment.
The gave me a quote, then mentioned that they had a shipping service company ( Pacific Atlantic Freight), and gave me a low quote for shipping also. I accepted. The charged my cc card the quoted prices. They then arranged for pickup/transportation/delivery. Following delivery, they immediately charged my cc an EXTRA $655. To date, they have given me 4 different/conflicting/confusing/half truth reasons for the extra charges, none believable, and none supported by requested documented proof.
The extra charges are 2.6 times the original quote, The total is 1.5 times the undiscounted quote directly from the actual carrier. PAF promices, without restriction, a savings of 62% to 88%. I get the price at a 360% increase! The issue of correctly identifying the freight class is also involved.I have a complete set of all the email messages from PAF.
I hope that someone is interested, as I believe the following issues are involved:
1] CONFLICT OF INTEREST IN PROVIDING BOTH INSURANCE AND SHIPPING
2] INTER STATE BAIT-AND SWITCH
3] INTERSTATE DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRATICES
4] INTERSTATE PRICE GOUGING
5] MISLEADING THE CUSTOMER BY STATEMENTS NOT CORRECT AND/OR INACCURATE

The issue remains unresolved, and I am still disputing the unjustified $655.26 charge to my credit card.
Pacific Atlantic Freight:
1] continues to refer to a UPS FREIGHT delivery receipt as justification that my 50 lb shipment actually weighted 500 lbs, as measured by UPSF.(This unvalid, because UPSF puts 500 pounds on all Freight class 150 items weighting 500 pounds or less, REGARDLESS OF WHAT IT ACTUALLY WEIGHTED).
2] has not addressed where the TTL of 150 lbs on the same document came from.
3] still just using marked up/winternal documents to support their position. None of these documents have ever been sent directly to me. Some have no document numbers, and most have no record of who marked up or originated/authorized the document.
4] has provided no rate sheet to show their calculations for the charge of $655.26.
5] still refuses to provide UPSF RE WAY certificate which will document the actual weight measured ( 50 lbs or less). This a breech of contract promice.
6]still refuses to provide UPSF invoice documents to show where their charges have changed. This a breech of contract/promice.
7] still has notaddressed why Judy of PAF billing on August 12th said that PAF had made a mistake, and it was not a weight issue at all.
8] still has not provided proof that Judy had requested a $404 refund from UPSF, nor proof that it was denied by UPSF.
9] has not explained why the insured value and dimensions ( volume) were not listed on the B/L PAFS 346
10] HAS NOT ADDRESSED WHY THE ITEM WAS SHIPPED AS A FREIGHT CLASS 150 ITEM, WHEN I HAD REPORTED IT AS A FREIGHT CLASS 400 ITEM. A POTENTIAL FREIGHT LAW VIOLATION
11] did not sign B/L # PASF# 346, even though it was a PAF document.
