I inquired about an ad in the newspaper on 4/30/04 (Friday evening) for a work at home job from JMW Financial Services. The salesperson said I had to authorize a bank debit right away as the job may not be available in the next few days. I called my bank the next morning and issued a stop payment.

I attempted to notify JMW but no one answered the phone call attempts. Starting 5/19/04 I began receiving collection notices from Pacific Creditors Assoc. I called and told them I acted within my 3 days right to cancel the transaction but the contact person there said I still owed the money.

The original amt to be debited from my account was $98.00 but the notice from PCA was $123.54. The last notice said they had reported my account to all nationwide credit reporting bureaus and that amount due was $124.92. I finally wrote a check and paid the balance of $124.92 to get PCA to leave me alone.

I have tried unsuccessfully for 2 years to find JMW Financial Services but they move from state to state.
I feel PCAA owers me the refund as they wouldn't honor the allowed right to cancel and collected this money thru fraudulent means.
