I received a check in the mail in the amount of $4902.00, my winnings in a lottery I never participated in. Along with the check was a letter explaining that an entry attached to my name had been drawn and as a result 5 of the numbers matched. I was also to call A.J. Brown in customer service at 1-416-856-4671 to activate the check and start the claims process.

The check looks totally real. The company name on the check I received is Ruiz Products Inc out of Dinuba, CA and the bank listed is Harris Bank Roselle in Roselle, IL. No phone numbers listed for either the "business" or the "bank".

I thought this had to be a scam, so I quickly got online and searched Pacific Fiduciary Trustees to see what this was all about. Low and behold, my thoughts were correct. No one sends you a check for this sort of amount out of the blue without there being some sort of strings attached.

I'm so glad I was able to find information on this scam and have the chance to inform others about this potetially costly risk. Remember, if it's too good to be true it's probably a scam!!!
