I responded to a mailer to renew my warranty. I was told that I could review the details of the warranty and cancel within 30 days and receive a full refund. It took me 15 days, 50+ phone calls and voice mails, and a lot of yelling to get them to mail me a cancellation form. When I finally received the form, it said that I would be charged a $150 cancellation fee, in contradiction to what I was told when I purcahsed the warranty.

I have faxed in the cancellation form and have the fax call report showing it was sent.

I demanded that they send me the recording of my sales call, they refused.

More calls, more yelling, and they agreed to give me a full refund within 4-6 weeks.

Rather than giving me the refund, their finance company MEPCO deducted another payment from my account. Even worse, they deducted the money a day earlier than I had originally scheduled my payments, overdrawing my account and causing me to incur a fee. No one answers when I call and try to sort this out. I don't know how to get my money back and will probably have to close my checking account to stop the deductions.

My advice to anyone else caught up in this scam - call right away to cancel. If you leave a voicemail, they will not call you back. Keep calling. Be very assertive. If they try to tell you something contrary to what they said in the sales call, ask them to send you the recording of the sales call.

Before you sign up for a warranty, make sure it is not called DirectChoice Quality Vehicle Protection, through Pacific Guard Warranty, financed by MEPCO Finance Coorporation.

Calling me twice a day to say the account is past due

When I call their customer service department, they say my account is cancelled and they have issued a refund.

However, the finance company has just mailed me a bill for next month, and they call me twice a day harrassing me to say the account is past due!

They deducted the payment and then reported my account past due!

On 7/09/09, the same day Mepco, the finance company, deducted a payment from my bank account without permission, Pacific Guard Warranty send me a letter from their Litigations Department that my account was past due.

I responded by mail by sending a copy of the cancellation form that i had faxed in, along with the fax confirmation report.

Today, 4 days after Pacific Guard Warranty signed receipt of the certified letter with the cancellation form, I got two calls from Pacific Guard Warranty on my cell phone. Both were "courtesy calls" to say my account was past due!

I don't understand. I cancelled within the 30-day trial period. They billed my account anyway. Then, they report my account past due! And harrass me while I am at work!

How do I get these people to stop billing me?
