I was sent a check in the mail with Kennicott Brothers Company name on a JP Morgan Chase Bank check in the amount of $4,985.00 signed by Mary Chris Johnson. The body of the letter says in short, I won a Promotional Sweepstakes Lottery of $248,000.00. To expedite the processing, enclosed is a check of $4,985.00. The tax amount is $3,975.00 which is to be moneygramed from Wal-Mart to Pacific Lottery Corp.
The letter gave a telephone number (905-781-2585) to call for instructions. I called because the lawyer I work for and I were curious to what they have to say. They said to deposit the check and wait until 2 days, when it clears, send us $3,975.00 by moneygram at any Wal-Mart location. This check is real and official looking and will probably either bounce or you will owe the company from which the money came from that money.
I did an internet search on Pacific Lottery Corporation and the real website has this scam warning on their site.

I happen to hold up this check and on the back is watermarked "Docu Gard". I searched this name on the internet and found that it is a stationary brand. Further search and found the picture of my check. You can buy these checks fully blank and buy them on the internet from a Canadian website.
