Package Costa Rica Scott Bowers Did not receive what we paid for Internet

On March 18 2015 I paid the travel agency Package Costa Rica US$ 5,802.00 for a vacation package including hotels, bus transfers, and excursions that were to occur June 30-July 8 2015. On June 29 2015 I received an email from Scott Bowers at Package Costa Rica informing me of unspecified  "issues" with my package that he was trying to resolve. As it turns out, none of the vendors on the itinerary were paid and, as a result, all of my reservations were cancelled. In order to still continue with the vacation, I had to pay each vendor on the itinerary directly, essentially doubling the costs of the vacation. 

I have since heard from Scott, telling me that his business has failed and imploring me to stop bad-mouthing him online. I have disputed the charge with American Express and am currently waiting for resolution to this matter.
