I breed French Bulldogs. Debbie Erikson who breeds Shih Tzus wanted a pup of mine. She could not come up with the funds and sent me partial payment. I agreed to ship the pup and she would send me the remainder of the money in a week. Due to weather and Debbie's refusal to drive to any other airport, the pup could not be shipped. We attempted again. Please understand that Debbie told me she would pay remaining balance in a week. The pup could not be shipped and the week went by and still Debbie did not pay the balance, instead coming up with one excuse after another.

Debbie then told me to resale the pup. Please note, deposits are not refundable if you change your mind on me. Please also note this woman had not paid in full for this pup. We agreed that I would resale this dog and then refund her money. ALL HER MONEY.

It took the people who purchased this dog awhile to get the deposit to me. As I did not have the full purchase price of the dog, I did not refund the money to Debbie. We had agreed that we would wait unil this pup was resold to refund.

Unknown to me, this woman filed a complaint against me in Pay Pal and put a hold on my account due to buyer dispute in which she claimed I had not sent her the pup nor could she contact me.

People, if a buyer will do this after my bending all the rules what will she do to those of you who want a Shih Tzu? This woman is wishy washy and dishonest in my opinion. I think she wanted something for nothing and was planning on my shipping this pup and NEVER PAYING THE BALANCE.

Beware! I would not place my faith in either buying a pup from this woman or selling her one. If you sell her one, make sure you get all money up front. All I can say is Thank you Mother Nature for not allowing my pup to be flown to this woman. This will teach me to be nice. Just as there are bad breeders in the dog world, there are bad buyers.

It is completely Irresponsible to purchase a dog over the internet

Dear Ms. Indiana-

I think it is completely irresponsible to purchase a puppy over the internet. You say that Debbie is the lowest type of human. Well most people would have to agree that paying for something (a living creature) without viewing its enviroment, it's parents, and where is came from is truly about the most stupid move a human could make. Maybe Debbie changed her mind because you wanted to take a helpless little puppy and pay without viewing it and have it shipped under a plan for several hours!!!! That is about the most inhuman thing you could do to a little puppy. I don't I was lucky, I made an educated decision that I was going to bring a pet into my home, and that I needed to meet the person who breed him, and the enviroment he came from. Shame on you for making a stupid choice and then blaming others for your not using your head! Next time don't purchase LIVING CREATURES on the internet without seeing them first!

Not all has had your experience with this breeder, she has not lied to you and tried to take your money and not send you puppies but sell them to someone else to make money on them twice

I got my Shih Tzu from Palace Shih Tzu and had a great expereince

I was very upset with the information that I read in these reports. I was searching for Debbie's address when I stumbled on these reports. Two years ago my husband and I found Palace shih tzu on the internet and contacted her about a puppy. She sent us some pictures of her puppies and we agreed to drive to up state New York to meet with her. We DROVE 8 hours to meet with her. Debbie Erikson's home was very clean, and she is a wonderful lady! We got to meet our puppies parents and see where he was raised. Our dog is beautiful. He was healthy and our vet down here in New York City saw him the next day and said he was in perfect health. In the two years we have had our dog, he has been great. He was socialized when we got him, house training was started and he has an excellent temperment.

Many people have also come up to us IN NEW YORK CITY, and told us we should show him due to his perfect markings. Debbie Erikson of Palace Shih Tzu and I have been in contact throughout the last two years, I have sent her pictures and we communitcate.

I think the people who are writing these complaints are disrespectful to animals, purchasing a dog over the internet and NEVER seeing them or where they were raised is irresponsible, and also having them shipped as a puppy is disgusting to me.

Palace Shih Tzu is a wonderful place to purchase a puppy, I have recommended them to several people to get their dogs from her and all have been just as happy as I am.

My husband and I are actually getting another dog from her this spring. If you read this and would like to hear about my wonderful story please contact me.
Thanks Again-
Meg

I TOO HAVE BEEN A VICTIM OF DEBBIES LIES

I too have been scammed by Debbie. First of all I contacted Debbie in May after seeing on puppyfind that she supposedly had a litter of chocolate shih tzus due in June, I sent her a deposit of $250, to be placed on her waiting list. A few weeks after Debbie contacted me about a gold/black mask female that had a "great" pedigree, and Debbie encouraged me to buy her to breed to my blue male as she was a blue carrier, well she convinced me and I sent her $1860 by paypal, this was to cover the dog and shipping charges.

Well, she contacts me a few days before the dog was to ship and asked me if she could ship the dog COD that her son was the one taking the dog to the airport and he did not like dealing with paying as it made him late for work. I believed her and said yes that is fine, she proceeded to tell me that if I would do that, she would ship pay for shipping my chocolate female to me when the time came. Well the next day she emailed me and had just returned from the vet, the next excuse was the dog was way to small for my blue male and she didn't think it would be a good idea for me to take her, even though she knew the whole time how much my male weighed. So she talked me out of taking her, well I find out the reason she did that was because she sold the dog to someone else, (which now I find out she has done to others)

So at that point I did not trust her anymore and filed a dispute with paypal, they of course froze her account. She then called me and begged me to please not freeze her account that is how she feeds her grandchildren who live with her, and gave me this sad sob story of how she is so poor and has no money. Well I guess she knew how to touch my heart "thru children" so I cancelled the dispute, and gave her yet another chance. The straw that brohe the camels back was when I find out that she is trying to buy a dog from a very well known and establised Kennel in Brazil, where I purchased one of my females, I knew the price she was paying for that dog, so I then contacted american express and and filed the dispute thru them, and finally got my money back.

As of this date, she still has $250 of my money as a deposit on a chocolate female, (a litter that was not even bred) after she told me the dog was huge and going to have a few pups. When I contacted her on 8/21/06 to ask for my $250 that I first sent her for deposit on the chocolate litter, her answer is get it back thru american express and I will work on paying my paypal account back. TO me this is the loweest form of a human being on the face of the earth, to ask someone to trust her after I have been thru so many problems with people stealing my money from dogs I cannot breed. I would like to keep anyone from experiencing the things I have gone thru trying to find honest people to purchase breeding stock from

To all the honest buyers out there, this is why breeders usually insist for payment upfront.

Oh wow....

I was thinking that maybe my radar was off. However I thank Jaime. I am very relieved this baby never got anywhere near this woman. I am sorry that your dog arrived in such a state. As a dog breeder I can say there is no excuse for that whatsoever. I am also happy you kept him and he now has a good life.

As for Debbie, I am grateful that I was not able to ship this pup. More important than the money owed for which there was one excuse after another, Trina(the pup in question) now has a wondeful home in California where she will be loved and not anywhere near a place that would send a dog in the condition described by Jaime. I can only surmise that if one will send a dog in that shape to a new customer, one keeps dogs in the same shape without regard for their health and well being all the time.

Jaime is correct. That her dog had urine stains is very indicative that that dog lived in a small cage or a crate and was unable to get away from his own waste. Nice.....

In addition Debbie was super pushy on getting this pup to her right away. She simply would not take NO from me and seemed to expect that I could make the airlines accept a pup when it was too cold. When I asked if she wanted a healthy pup in good shape or a frozen pup, she had no response. I know now that she only wanted to get this pup to her as fast as possible so she could not pay me balance and herself a cheap Frenchie to breed.

To all the honest buyers out there, this is why breeders usually insist for payment upfront. To avoid people like this.

I am glad her true colors showed through before I put this pup on a plane. She comes across as honest and caring but in the end, it just does not match up with all the flags that pop up.

I normally just sit back and read the reports, but this time I had to tell my story. I purchased a Shih Tzu from Debbie Ericksen in 2004. It started out as a deposit on a chocolate and white pup that I had planned to use as a stud in the future. She emailed me saying that she had an imported male from excellent lines that she would be placing. She sent me a pic of the dog - he was breathtakingly beautiful. Little did I know that she had stolen that pic off the breeders website and it wasn't even the male she had, but another dog. I agreed to buy the imported male - who did come from an excellent kennel with beautiful show lines and an excellent reputation. What I didn't know was she had already resold and shipped the pup I had my deposit on before I ever agreed to buy the other dog. After paying $1500 for the new stud, she kept giving excuses on why she couldn't ship him yet. I finally got a shipping date out of her - after she told me she would have to wait another few days because she couldn't get him into the vet for his health certificate until the beginning of the week. When he arrived he was in a crate that was one size too small, I had to pay for the shipping (which she agreed to include in the purchase price of the dog), his fur was yellow (urine stained) which is a good indication of him living his life in a small cage, his eyes were full of green discharge and he had severe eye injuries, he came with an invalid health certificate that was for the choc & white pup I originally was going to get with the date changed (this is how I found out about her selling him before she ever approached me with buying the other dog). I immediatly took him to my vet. I was furious at how someone could treat him like that. My vet called the vet that was on the health certificate. He had never issued one on this dog and said that he had seen him one month prior and was concerned about his eyes - which meant that this dog suffered with painful eye injuries for at least a month without any treatment - very cruel. When I confronted her with all this she said that he had gotten in a fight along time ago with another male, but it didn't affect his sight at all - this dog had thick green discharge coming from his eyes and they were cloudy with puncture wounds in them and I am suppose to believe that she didn't notice it! She wanted to know if I wanted to send him back and get another pup from her - ABSOLUTLY NOT!!! That woman was never going to touch this poor dog again. His eyes are scarred and his eyesight was affected by this. Despite everything he was the sweetest boy. He is now in a loving forever home. I spoke directly with his breeder and a couple other breeders that have delt with her and found out more horrible things about Debbie Ericksen. In my opinion she should not be trusted and definatly should not own any animals.
