Palisades Collecition "invents" so-called debtors! Bethlehem Pennsylvania
I happened to do a credit report reecently, and immediately noticed that a collection had been placed for a bill from a company that I've never done business with...AT&T Wireless, in the amount of over $1200.00.
When calling them, I found them to be rude and arrogant, and when I disputed the account, they turned it over to an attorney who dropped me a harrasing, threatening letter in the mail.
I'm fighting this all the way...even if it cost more than the amount that they claim I owe!

Todd,
You have the right under FEDERAL LAW to have copies of all correspondence and documentation of that alleged verification. This is a provision of the FCRA. Demand it in a certified letter.
And do a debt validation to these lowlife stating you want to see whatever you allegedly signed as well as an account history. Wait 30 days, they fail to respond, use the letter and proof of mailing to file your lawsuit for non compliance of federal law. It is worth $1000 to you plus costs. Slam dunk!

Palisades Did the same thing to me. They said i owed $498 from an old AT&T account. They verified it by sending me a computer copy of a old phone bill with my name on it.
They call me everyday even after i told them by cerified mail to stop calling me. The credit companies took their side and kept it on my report even after i told them that it was false.
The FOX TV station in San diego did a report on this company. They are real scum and if anyone know about a class action suit against them please post it. good luck to all

Drew,
First, NEVER speak to ANY collector on the phone!
Second, DEMAND all communication be in writing, and use only certified mail with return reciept requested for your letters to them. be sure to put the certified# on the letter itself, and keep a copy for your records.
Now use the method above and send a dispute to each credit bureau. Use reason "not my account" and request copies of whatever "verification" is exchanged between parties as per your rights under the FCRA.
Now send a DEBT VALIDATION request to these parasites where you clearly dispute the debt, and DEMAND to se something you signed to create the debt, as well as an account history.
Now go to ftc.gov and file online complaints against them for frivolous collection activity and harassment, and then go to budhibbs.com to read all about these lowlife. You can get all of the current contact info there too.
Have fun!
