Palisades Collections - AT&T Rip off I am currently being ripped off by the company. Credit report says I owe $288 to AT&T and have no idea where this account came from. Englewood New Jersey
My credit report currently shows a collection account of $288 from Palisades Collection. I have know clue where this account came from and why it is in collections. I have disputed the item several times and have gotten no help or info. There is no contact info on the credit report and I refuse to send a payment for something I know nothing about. This company should be watched and reported they are ripping people off. Companies like this should be put out of business.

Chris,
These lowlife are JUNK DEBT BUYERS as well as debt collectors. This debt may not even be yours and it may not even be collectable as it may be 15-20 years old and past legal statute of limitations for collections.
The original debtor may have the same or similar name as you.
Just send a DEBT VALIDATION request to Palisades where you clearly dispute the debt, and DEMAND to see something you allegedly signed to create this debt, as well as an account history. This is important to determine which state's SOL applies.
Do NOT speak to anyone on the phone, and send all written correspondence by certified mail, return reciept requested. Put the certified# on the letter itself and keep a copy for your records.
You will most likely never hear from them again.
Good luck!
