Generally, Palm Harbor Homes provided good service.  The home we ordered had to be cancelled because they closed the plant that was to build it and we could not wait the additional time needed to build it in LaGrange.  Palm Harbor Homes found us a Hacienda model, new but lots of weather damage.  Palm Harbor Homes repaired all the damage with the exception on two window sills that had water damage and the windows won't open.

The heating/air and duct work was not adequate for a 2400 sq ft home.  We had fan and compressor failures that our paperwork said was warranted for 10 years.  All sources contacted from Palm Harbor Homes to the compressor manufacturer advised, regardless of our paperwork, the warranty waa only for 5 years and, of course, was expired.

We have had to replace the entire heating/air and duct work to allow heat or air to the master bedroom end of the house.  I had sent a letter to Palm Harbor Homes Corporate and Jacksonville regarding the compressor issue.  No response.

The bathroom skylight leaked, causing ceiling damage.  All the interior door trim is 2 inches wide.  This is not standard and we are unable to find 2 inch trim/moulding to replace that damaged by my electric wheel chair.  Another thing, when you look at the model homes, you do not realize the 'wood' is not 'wood' but only pressed paper.  The doors are falling off my kitchen cupboards.  Two drawers in the kitchen had broken slide rails.  Most of the problems are not found within the warranty period.  Let the buyer beware....

Once they sell you your home it appears you are forgotten.  I would not do business with them again.  My opinion is it would be much better to buy a locally built home from a reputable builder.
