I first off am sorry to hear, but glad to know we aren't the only ones having problems with this company.

We special ordered our Palm Harbor home in Greenville, NC, that was our first mistake. We went thru several hours of details with the salesman letting him know what we wanted and didn't want in our home.

He assured us only the best of everthing, we especially told him we didn't want our home to be a trailer, that we wanted good quality and he assured us that is what we would get from Palm Harbor. YEAH RIGHT!. Bull..

Where to start we were told we would have good quality of walls, not cheap trailer walls, well they are not far from trailer walls. Then we were given a 30 minute spill on good quality pull out insulated windows, which we had already decided on due to me having allergies to mold & mildew. Well much to our surprise after the home was set up and we were doing our inspection we noticed that we had some cheap looking windows. We brought this up to the manager at Greenville, who is also no longer there along with the salesman. We were told the salesman forgot to put it so the windows we got were the normal windows (which they no longer use). So we just accepted this cause they told us it was too late to do anything about then.

Well then we were also assured that we had the top quality of carpet too, which is not, the carpet starting wearing thin the first year this is even with proper care and cleaning and maintenance. So another shot in the back to us. By this time we knew we had been screwed.

We then started having problems with our sliding door leaking, the side light melted (oh it was plastic) and melted some of the siding. Well they sent someone who (no longer works there) to repair the lights luckly for us he was the only one who was actually good at his job, he went to Lowes bought top notch lights and replaced the cheap ones, and he also told us we were not the only ones who had had this happen he was actually getting ready to go take care of another customer who was having some of the same problems as we were.

Well the sliding glass door oh boy, what a joke they sent two people down and they obviously didn't know what they were doing, but the door is repaired. (We HOPE). Then the same day they had to correct the electrical outlets we had requested for outside the sliding door were actually inside.

After much arguing with a female at Albermale she tried to black male my husband into her allowing them to put the sockets outside if he would assure her that I would do a good review for the home, FAT CHANCE. Never! He assured her that was not going to happen and that he won't be bullied to do something that was supposed to have already been done, since we paid extra for this. Well the put the outside sockets in, at a later time when they had to come back and replace the cheap vinyl siding that kept falling off the house we learnt that the idiots left the wires exposed and didn't put them in a outlet box, (no fire hazard there huh) luckily for us our house didn't catch fire.

Oh and the vinyl siding when they removed it there is mold on the backer board which we have been arguing with them that they need to replace due to mold will continue to grow and then spread to the insulation and then the inner walls, well the tech supervisor at Albermale has told me this will not happen and they are not going to replace it that it will be fine. I DON'T think so. Read up on mold. So we still don't know what if anything they are going to do about this situation.

Now onto the kitchen, we have had to have the counter top replaced twice. I at first thought it was due to them not leaving enough space for the appliances between the counters and appliances. Which we gave the corrects specks to the salesman for those too that were never passed on.

But considering the counter tops are cheap pressed wood with laminate tops. I think this is a problem too, Oh they don't use that kind of counter tops any more either. Well this past time when the repair man was here he broke a piece of the decorative wood that goes between the dish washer and the cabinet. While that piece was out I noticed alot of heat builds up under the counter from the dish washer, which heat rises and I let them know this and advised them that if they don't come up with a solution or better counter tops this would probably continue to happen, well they haven't let me know about that either.

Our windows in the winter get mositure inside and freeze, litteraly we can scrape ice from our inside windows and icills form on the outside, we have let them know this the first year, but no one has ever done anything. Well don't know if anyone is aware, but apparently they have a lot of turn over on employees and things get passed on and some never do, so you have to keep starting over.

Well last week I called to do a follow up with them on the windows cause we had there tech look at them when he replaced the counter top, he stated they no longer use those windows and there are a few other people having the same problem, he called his supervisor from our home and explained things to him. That supervisor was to call us back, well he never did. So I called doing follow up call. Then he would have to call me back, well he did. Told me someone else in Virginia is having same problem but it would cost them too much to replace each window with the better windows.

Then he told me his supervisor told him to tell me that it was not there problem we had to contact the manufacturer of the windows. That pissed me off. But I contacted them explained the same thing to them and the female there was not happy, she told me that it is never the customers problem when the company used the products didn't properly install them which she thinks is what is wrong and that the windows needed replaced.

She also advised me that Palm Harbor should have called them if they had a problem with there products to request a tech to go look at them which they didn't do. I then called Palm Harbor back spoke to the Main Supervisor explained all of this again. I also told him that his people are telling us that people in Virginia and other places are having same problem with the windows, if they know this they need not tell me they need to do something about it. Quit passing the buck stand up behind your product like they did when selling it.

Well that supervisor assured me that he was going to have his best tech come handle our windows and he would call me back Friday, well today is Tuesday and I still haven't heard from him. I called yesterday left him a message and still nothing.

Is there not someone who can help us get the proper repairs done to our residences?

SO to anyone else looking to purchase don't use Palm Harbor or Masterpiece Housing they now call themselves. You will regret it and have so much turmoil that you too will come to the conclusion that you were screwed from the beginning and will never get the best from them like you are promised. RUN

Just wanted to let you know that... Palm Harbor homes Has in the Past bought out NationWide Homes and also Have changed some of there lots to Fleetwood homes so be carefull on what you buy... The Name has been changed on some products but owners still remain or just added new owners to the pot!!! Please do not print my name anywhere.. but check it out on yout own

Lets update. Well Mr. McDonald has no integrity along with the others at Palm Harbor I am still waiting for his return call. Maybe he don't know what Friday 14th Sept was. But I called him on Monday since he didn't call me, and still no call back and here it is another Friday and I called and had to leave another message. Can someone please some him how to retrieve them!

Well since I didn't get him I spoke to Mr. Whitley who has the one trying to handle our problems. He tells me that he has been advised to send a Tech out to remove the storm windows from the area and put sealer into the frame of the windows without replacing or removing the windows and then put the storm window part back up. HUM, first off this is bull, was told by Mr. McDonald he was going to be sending a Person with years of experience and expertise in the area of windows to replace them and with authority to do what ever was needed. Well the tech that Mr. Whitley was sending is the tech who told my husband and I in our home the day he called his supervisor from our phone he didn't know or do windows. Well why not send him to half a*s try and fix the problem that is what they always do.

Well I assure you with some not so nice words I told him this was not happening and that was not what I was told. Course then he tells me he has to speak to Mr. McDonald and is going to call me back by the end of today September 21 personally. Well we will see, been told that numerous time before.
