Complaint Review: Palmetto Marketing

My baby girl was 8 days old when these two girls came knocking at our door at dinner time. My husband answered the door, and I could hear the conversation from the dining room. They claimed to be trying to win a contest selling magazines and children's books, and said they had sold some to our neighbors, even mentionning their son's name. They showed my husband this supposed "card" they had from the town of Billerica, saying they had a permit to sell door to door and claimed proceeds were going to the local high school.

I could tell these girls were not from around here, because they had slight southern accents, not New England accents and expected my husband would send them on their way. Next thing I know he's getting the check book, ordering Bob the Builder books for my son, as they claimed the neighbors did for their son. I said it sounded suspicious, but he wrote the check anyway, and here we are over 4 months later, out $34.00 and guess what? NO BOOKS!!! I must admit, their sales pitch was polished.

This company is nothing but a bunch of dirty gypsies out stealing money from hard working families, preying on their kids and trying to use people's good nature in trying to support kids "trying to win a contest" and their local schools. I hope someone comes down on these people and throws them in jail where they belong.
