Palmetto Marketing Inc, Gemini Sales Company ripoff consumer fraud Coral Springs Florida
I am filing this rip-off report because of my situation with Palmetto Marketing, Inc. and their agent Gemini Sales Company here in Round Rock, Texas.
My wife answered the door and this very nice, somewhat geeky girl was at the door saying she was a high school student from our local high school. She said that she could win a trip if she could just sell enough magazines. My wife let her in and proceeded to look over the offerings of magazines. She decided to order three seperate magazine subscriptions, and with the $10 service charge the order came to $107.
However, after I looked over the order, I decided to cancel the whole thing. Well, that is when I found out I could not call the company, I had to send them a telegram. Well, first, who used telegrams anymore? So I spent a good hour finding someone that could send a telegram. I did, but the cost to send the telegram was $38.49! But I figured that at least it wasn't $107! Well, not but 2 days latter, and when I went to check my bank register online I found out that my check for $107 had been cashed!
Therefore, my next step is to go to the principal of the high school and actually see if they were allowing children to do this sort of activity. Then I will be filing a report with the ISD of our area, the Better Business Bureau and the local police department.
I just feel that they are using these kids in a free scam to get money out of people that feel sorry for children.

I recently took a job with gemini sales,and I for one think yhat it is a great company for young adults.I know the few weeks that I was there it showed me a new outlook on life.Everyday was a learning experiance,with some one there to make you feel very good about your self.Yes there is hard times between some of us but that is in any family,and that is what we all were.
These men and wemon not kids go out there and bust there a*s 12 hours a day to win a contest that is real and to do something like bring some lonley old person company if only for a min.
Instead of blaming scame on theme why not find out the real reason you might not be getting your order.I personlly seen many happy repeat people that was very pleased.

First off, If anyone comes to your door claiming to be from a local high school or college and they're selling magazines, you should (politely) tell them you're not interested, because we are not affiliated with any schools or colleges; it tells you so on both the reciepts and the credential that they hand you to begin with. We are really in a contest to win a thousand dollars and a trip to Bermuda, Nassau or Cancun. I know because one of my friends won one of the contests. He went to Porta Viarta (Mexico) and I have seen pictures to prove this.
As an ex-agent, I know that points are deducted for "school spilling" and agents have even been fired for it. It is misrepresentation and it is what pisses people off and ruins the reputation of the rest of us. It really disturbs me when I find that someone has been to a door before me and left a bad impression. I have sold to a few of those people, but not many because they are leery to chance it again.
I am personally sorry for your experience, even though I was not responsible, and I hope you will not let it affect your impression on the next of us to come knocking.
