Complaint Review: Palmetto Marketing

Yesterday 2 kids came to my door and said they were high school senoirs trying to win a trip to Cancun. My fiance was standing at the door REALLY wanting a magazine. The kids were very sarcastic. My fiance has a few tatoos and looks like a biker, but is no where near that. So, these kids got kinda cocky and said we will win $1000 for drinking money in cancun, blah, blah, blah. We just thought they were trying to be funny w/ my fiance.

We just moved into our town so, my fiance wanted to support the high school kids since we live a block from the school. After talking with these kids they said they were home schooled. So I asked where they were from. (I live in Indiana) The "talker" was from Idaho and the other. At that time I had a feeling not to get the magazines. The kids told use it is "tax deductable" and my fiance jumped at that. Stupid me wrote 2 checks totaling $64 anyways and $20 of that is a "processing fee".

After they left I had a strage gut feeling. I was reading the receipt and it said you can cancel in 3 days. There was no date on the recipt or a wasy to cancel besides mailing it in. So I immediatly did a google seach on Palmetto Marketing and the first thing I saw was "Rip Off Report".

I then called my bank and stoped the 2 checks. It is costing me $48 to stop the checks, but I know that they won't be able to cash it. I have never bought from anyone that came to my door before. I will never buy from anyone who comes to my door again. Oh yeah, one last thing. The "talker" told me to take this thing he gave me to my door that says "bug off". He said that way no other kids could come to my door and try to sell to me. Thank you to those who have warned me through Rip Off Reoprt!!! It is greatly appreciated!!
