Some kid who never gave me his name came to my house today trying to sell me magazine subscriptions. He said something about how there were 40 youth in a contest trying for $1,000 or a trip to Cancun or something and something about college tuition. They found out about it "buy an ad in the paper." Another kid came up after Kid #1 had been at my place for a minute or so.

Not only was I never told his name, I never was told the name of the organization (I know it was Palmetto after reading about them on here), never presented with an order form and never told the prices. All I saw was a "catalog" of the magazines (the catalog had a porno section so you'll be able to identify them that way). Just that they were about half off the normal price and that I would have to buy two years because "it's the only way the companies will let us sell for them."

Kid #1 claimed to be from Louisville, KY.
Kid #2 didn't talk much.

I didn't fall for it. I knew it was a scam when I couldn't have time to think about it and get back to him ... it "had to be today."

"We can hold a check for 10 days," he says.

Suuure. Slam the door in their faces and leave your porch light at nights for a while after they visit. Thank God I didn't let him in my house!
