Complaint Review: Panama Land Capital Tom Bakkum Marcel Grundman

I was contracted by Mr Tom Bakkum and Mr Marcel Grundman to assist setting up there mining operation in the Panamainian jungle, I flew myself out to get this done for them, they sent me a formal written contract and they had already flown me out to go and look at the ground so buying a ticket to get out there to work seemed ok, I was told to keep any and all receipts (I do so).

The operation was deployed under great pressure from these two to just get it established, so with the help of some locals and a small mining team of US citizen we started the set up in the jungle, the only way in is but helicopter or by local small boat, so it was difficult to say the least. We then lived and worked in the jungle with no electricity or clean drinking water in a staw hut.

After 1 month I was due (and contracted) to rotate back to the US for leave, I packed my few bits to take with me and the remaineder were placed in a watertight container ready for my return in 1 week.

I got home and was not paid my salery or my out of pocket expenses and was told they had not managed the project properly and it was falling apart, yet they can be found to this day living it up in Panama, there faces are in the society papers, one of there customers is Mel Gibson, so I do not think for one minute thay cannot afford to pay me my $3,000 salery or the $500 for the flight and expenses that are owed.

Anyone wishing to work for these people should do so at there own risk, they know I cannot afford to take legal action against them from the US so they just ignor me. Anyone wishing to purchase property in Panama should not use this company, vote with your feet, there are good reliable and honest property companies in Panama that can help you.

I am a war verteran and was employed for my security and logistics knowledge, what a mistake, I lived in poor conditions and was fed when they could be bothered to have food shipped to us and for nothing!
