I have been dealing with Panasonic, and it is a nightmare!! I have received no help from Customer Service, and am extremely dissapointed with their procedures. Upon searching the internet, I have found many other customer complaints that are the same as mine. This is too common to be overlooked. I have printed out all other customer complaints that I found. Many people have said that their units also broke on the first use, with the same problem as mine. Here is the story:

I am very, very upset about a Panasonic DVD Home Theatre System that I purchased for my husband. I bought the product in Best Buy in early December, to give as a Christmas present. We set the system up the other day, and used it for the first time this past weekend. About a half hour into the DVD that we were watching, the picture became very pixilated, and seemed to skip. We tried a different DVD, just to make sure that it was the machine. When we called Best Buy, they informed us that it is past the return period. When we called Panasonic, they told us that we must have it serviced. We do not want to unplug our whole system again and have service on a brand new machine! We would like to own a brand new machine, not one that has been fixed. We have never heard of having to keep a product that has been broken after the first use. I am very dissapointed because before purchasing, I searched the internet for comparisons on DVD players and to find which was the best. The Panasonic model that I bought was the one that was the highest rated. Little did we know that this would happen. Panasonic told us to bring the unit to the closest service center.. which is not what we expect from this company... but we have tried three and they want to charge us to fix it. Customer service has been horrible.. .giving us the run-around and telling us that we have to have it fixed, that there is nothing else they can do.

Ideally, we would like to get our money back to purchase another brand. From what other people have experienced, even after they have the unit fixed, the problem reoccurs again and again. I don't want to get another Panasonic system, and have the same problem down the road. If worse comes to worse, I would settle for another one though.
