On 4/10/2007 the deposit was withdrawn from my bank aaccount for $375.00 for a computer my wife was interested in. They sent us paperwork which i recieved yesterday, 4/15/2007, i read the paperwork along with the description of the computer that they wanted to send us and it was a pre-owned laptop that is very very outdated. 512MB,60GB HDD, and other minimal settings. the laptop is prehistoric and used. When my wife spoke to them on the phone to originally set up the deal they didn't tell her that she was putting a non-refundable down payment on a paperweight with a screen. Anyway, yesterday I recieved the paperwork to complete the sale and like most people should do i read it. I decided that based off of the info on the sales order (sales contract), and the product info, that i did not want their product. the overall sales price was going to be $1,525.00. I would rather buy a simple new computer for that price. This morning i called them and they told me that they will not refund the down payment because "it is just non-refundable."-Jennifer self proclaimed Customer Service Supervisor. She aslo told me that I can write to challenge the refund policy, which when asked she could not explain what exactly the refund policy is.

Timeline-
4/10/07---375.00 withdrawn as downpayment on a laptop.

4/15/07---I recieve and read the product info and sales contract.

4/16/07---I call to cancel the sale and request refund of down payment based off of the info on the product description and sales contract. Jennifer gladly cancels the sale and promptly states that the down payment is non refundable. i request to speak to a supervisor. she says the supervisor is too busy to speak with me but she is a supervisor too for customer service. she then told me that I can write to challenge the refund policy, which when asked she could not explain what exactly the refund policy is.

I believe that this company is not in the business of selling computers. I believe that companies like this one are only rying to get the non-refundable deposits. While i was speaking to her it seemed as if she was anxious to cancel the rest of the sale but defensive when I asked for a refund. Any other company would normally try to persuade the potential customer to not cancel the sale because that is better for the company.
It seemed to me that they were eager tp cancel the sale and get me off the phone.

Also enclosed in the paperwork that was sent to me was a "authorization to debit down payment form". Why would they enclose this form after recieving the down payment? I believe it is because this is common practice for them to target down payments.
