I had Paradise come to my home back in May of 2008 to fix a leak in my hot tub. They came out & fixed it. I went in & paid them a few days later around $200. The following week the tub was still leaking so I called & told them. The service mgr Dennis Beecroft told me that the tech who had worked on my tub was new & that he would personally come out to my home with the new tech & make the proper fix. He reassured me that it would be at no charge because I had already paid them to fix it. Dennis said "It should have been fixed right the first time & we will take care of it at no charge".

A few days later Dennis called me back & said that they had been to my home & did a temp fix to my tub. He said he would have to come back another day with a part that he had to order. I wanted reassurance that I would not be billed & he once again told me not to worry about it that they would just take care of it for me.

3 months go buy, my hot tub is working fine. The temp fix held up so I had forgot all about it. In the middle of August I get a call from Chad at Paradise Spas. He is a technician there. He told me he was on his way out to my home to service my hot tub. I told him that I did not authorize anyone to service it. I called Paradise & spoke to Dennis who said "Oh the part came in that you needed back in May & we were going to swap it in really quick today beings we had time & that is why they did not call me to set up an appt. They did not have my permission nor were they even going to tell me they were coming to my house. I only found out becuase the tech needed directions. So I agreed because Dennis back in May told me the fix would be at no charge.

To make a long story short. When I came home my spa was wrecked by this technician. The following are all the damages:
Glue spilled all over the tub and patio.
Panel on hot tub broken by Tech & poorly fixed. It is now an eyesore.
Knob for jet on/off switch broken by tech.
Spa cover left open by tech all day & overnight. The Tech carelessly got chunks of plastic pipe shavings all over in the tub and he filtered them through which I was told is bad.
Left the access cover to the electrical elements carelessly open over the weekend & exposed the elements to a thunder storm. (Note: I have been advised by 2 other Spa businesses that that is very bad. Just because my electrical elements work fine now doesn't mean that they are in the clear. Once the rust sets in I could have major problems according to them)
When finished with work left the electrical board to the tub hanging.
I waited about a week to call & complain becuase I had to go away to Florida on business. When I got back & checked my mail I had a bill for $700 from Paradise. I was irrate. I called the owner Craig Tweten out to my home to look at the disaster. He was no help & insulted me by saying that he would drop my bill to $568 vs the $700.

In summary: I never gave Paradise Spa's permission to perform chargeable work on my hot tub on 8/7/2008.
I never agreed to order a part back in May that I would be charged for.
I was told by Dennis Beecroft back in May that Paradise would fix the problem at no charge because it should have been fixed right the first time. I paid Paradise Spa's to fix my tub back in May & it was not fixed & my money was not refunded.I sent Craig Tweten a letter as advised by my attourney stating that I was not going to pay the bill per the reasons above. I told him that I should be the one billing him for damaging my hot tub & patio. In turn he tries to bill me? Paradise then had the nerve to turn me over tocollections.

The collection agency looked into my case & they dismissed it & told me that they would't pursue it for Paradise because of their bad business. Also:The tech told my fiancee & his brother that he didn't know what he was doing, that he overflowed my tub (very bad)& heard him call Paradise & say he didn't know what he was doing and that he needed help.

Lawsuit Against Paradise Spa's & Motorsports

#3Author of original report

Sat, February 20, 2010

On Feb 1st 2010, Judge Hager of the Ward County District Court, ruled in my favor in the lawsuit I filed against Paradise Spa's.  So in response to the comments by Paradise Spa's on my complaint on this website, I wanted all readers to know that the Judge ruled in MY favor as I was able to prove my allegations.  So they can no more deny their bad business practices. These people are horrible to do business with, an absolute nightmare. Please consider another retailer for your outdoor living needs.

On May 21st the above party called in for us to come out ot her house and repair a leaking spa motor. The exact work order called in was "spa is leaking at the motor." We dispatched a technician to the job site where indeed the spa motor was leaking out the front volute of the pump. We replaced the o-ring on the volute.

The above party called back and said the spa was still leaking out of the same place. We dispatched another technician back to the job site to check the problem. The technician was unable to find a leak at the pump as stated.

The above party called back again and told me the spa was still leaking at the same place, but it took about 10 to 15 minutes for the leak to start. We dispatched our service manager with 13 years of knowledge in spa repair, and he found the leak was actually coming from the diverter valve. The vale had a hole through it. We were able to temporarily repair the leak by closing up the hole with marine grade two part epoxy. After discovering this, we contacted the above party and asked her if she wanted us to replace the diverter valve assembly. I told her estimated repair costs while she was standing at our parts counter in the store. At which time she told us to go ahead and order the parts to repair it. Our parts manager was also present at the time and witnessed her authorizing us to order the parts and perform the repair.

Once the parts arrived we dispatched a technician to replace the valve assembly. The technician did have some problems replacing the valve assembly. We credited the above part for 1.5 hours of labor, and the handle which was broke was ordered, and is on hand for the customer at no charge.

We are regretful or our customer's dissatisfaction, however the work was performed as authorized, and we just want to be paid for the service performed. The claims the "the collection agency looked into my case and they dismissed it..." is completely, and totally inaccurate.
