Complaint Review: Paramount Builders inc.

I assume that when they do the work, they do it just fine, although I will never know because I don't plan to call on them. Yesterday a young man dropped by proposing home repair work offering a special discount to US government employees, members of the military and veterans. Being a member of the military and needing some wood work replaced on my house, I said fine.  The young man handed me a card with the words "PVD Savings Program" on it and the words "GUARANTEED SAVINGS" prominently displayed on it.  Cutting to the chase: I agreed to an appointment with a sales representative for an estimate and this evening the sales rep showed up.  I explained what work I wanted done, he took measurements and told me that it'd be $3800, but with the special military discount and another special discount it came to $3000.  Here's what this company would do for $3000: they would replace a 28 feet long piece of wood with a flimsy piece of PVC material.  That's pretty much it. Like I said earlier, I am sure they'd do a good job, but they are sadly mistaken if I should give them $3000 of my hard earned money for that bitof work.  ottom line, while I have no reason to think this company wouldn't do a good job, value-wise, they are cheap, cheap, cheap.  I'm sure anyoneone can get batter value for their money than giving it to this company. Oh, and the sales representative wouldn't evencommit to the $3000 unless I signed a contract right there and then. While they may do a good job,this company is extremely expensive and uses pressure sale tactics that border on the UNETHICAL.  Stay away from this company, I say.
