This is one terrible Interior Decorator.  She showed up late for her appointment, she showed up late to our second meeting and her contractor didn't even bring a tape measure to measure the room for flooring.  Her second visit she had the audacity to say she would never come to my business.  She never even looked at the emails or the designs I had provided to her nor did she even bring a layout or any work product to our design meeting.

Did I mention she took off two weeks after she got my retainer?  Can you believe that?  We decided to part ways since she never did anything, her contractor quit on her and refused to help.  She told me her contractor (who quit) was going to charge her for his time. Really?  She then told me she spent 7 hours on the internet for me.  Really, and I have to pay to have someone search the internet?

I told her in no uncertain terms would I pay for that and she now has said she did all sorts or work and refuses to get my money back to me.  Email after email, text after text and I am stuck with a bad experience from this person.

Never do business with this company or Pat Parker.  My bad experience should be enough to convince you.

Parker Interiors has maintained a A+ rating with the Greater Houston BBB for the better part of 40 years.  We were shocked to discover a that a rip off report had been filed.  In more than 40 years, we have never had a negative report.

After I read the client's comments, I pulled every email from him, sent and received, and have them available to show that every point he made is false.  I will be glad share this information with any potential client and allow you to draw your own conclusions.

 Among his allegations are:

 1) Lateness:  It would be hard to be late when the address given was wrong, once discovered, I was forced to telephone the client for the correct address and parking information

 2)  On our second visit I was late, no question:  The client knew that I was out of the city and heading to his office.  I called the client an hour and a half  before and advised him that I was running this late  due to a wreck on the freeway; we live and work in Houston, Texas, there are accidents and traffic congestion, things happen.

 3) In addition to myself, there were 2 contractors at the second meeting.  They provided  20/30 flooring and marble samples; the client liked and selected from each of the samples..

Mock-up boards are not prepared until the client selects flooring and then we prepare paint colors; however,  with all of the emails sent to me, the client kept changing his mind from one design to another.  Before designers can do Mock-up boards the client has to make-up their mind and agree to a base plan for remodeling, then we do the boards.   Additionally, we have to know the building rules for demolition before we can begin tearing down walls, floors and doors. None of this can be done by magic.

 4)  I was available to visit his office even though I was told "just to go ahead and order the wood and marble flooring ... start that much." We would still need another appointment to confirm new designs.

 5)  During out first meeting the client hired me and paid our company a retainer to be applied to the last payment on  the job, products labor and hours spent.  During that same meeting I let him know that I would be out of the city on a planned vacation in New York; but, I would start immediately searching for products and designs.  He was fine with my vacation time and began sending me emails that day.  I read every one. While on my vacation in New York, I visited several salons to view their decor.   Prior to leaving for New York, I  spent many hours  researching designs that would work in his spa, and reviewing  all of his wishes as expressed in his many emails.

When we explain to a a client that we charge $ 90.00 per hour working on their  project and they agree, then that's the deal.  Our research methods and process are designed to be efficient and economical, we do not waste the client's money. Why this client decided our time and effort should be free is beyond me, particularly when he agreed to it and a retainer to, "get the job started." This documentation is available to any prospective client who may be concerned.

 6) Our contractor did not quit as the client suggested, he still works with our company and we have done many jobs together since then.

 7) Finally, the client's wife telephoned me after a third visit and told me to "put the job on hold" until he and she could agree on the decor.  She told me she did not like the designs her husband selected I asked her if she would like me to stop the job, calculate my hours thus far and return the monies that were left over from the $ 2,000.00 retainer.  She was very kind and said, "that would be nice."  She said she didn't feel her husband would see things her way, so it may be awhile.  Although we had spent nearly 20 hours on their job, I charged them for 7 hours and returned over 70% of their retainer. The next day is when her husband telephoned, texted and emailed blasting us for charging for our time.

It just goes to show you can't solve every problem; still, you be the judge!

Again, this information is available to any prospective client who may have any concern.

The most disturbing thing about this "Report" is that no one bothered to verify anything. He could have said I was tall with red hair and blue eyes when in fact I am blond with green  eyes.
