The Parking violations Bureau is not the City!!
The Parking Violations Bureau is a private company that hides behind the name of the city. They are privately owned!

They are the same people behind the maintenance and operations of the Traffic cameras! They most likely fraudulently managed to win the contract to manage the accounting, billing and collection of the parking tickets. I am talking about millions of dollars worth.

The company that is behind the Parking Violations Bureau (PVB) is a big company that also operates in other states. They are very powerful, just imagine having a contract for a city like Los Angeles over and over, and most likely when the contract is up, they come up with a different legal name so they ensure the contract again and again. All of this would be OK if they ran things in a legitimate way.

I have a list of at least 10 things that they do illegally for which they could be SUED for and for big! The City is not making the money, they are, and I think that is the best solution.

If any of you is interest in getting together and pursuit a legal litigation against this crooks, please respond to this posting. If enough people are interested than we should establish some type of contact.

Just in the last couple days I came across an article I kept from the Los Angeles Times written by reporter Patrick McGreevy and dated Feb. 1, 2005.

It's entitled, "Parking Windfall Angers Officials" with a subheading "Los Angeles authorities say the city did not receive its fair share of fines collected by two firms. One contractor is $20 million richer."

You'd have to search out the lengthy article on the Internet or with the LA Times, but essentially it reinforces what you've said about the private company. In this case it tells of how the City of Los Angeles coffers (the city's taxpayers) were ripped off to the tune of $20 million in parking fines by the private company.

It was due to both negligence on the part of the City by not enforcing its "letter of agreement" between the City and the private company; and the private company, Affiliated Computer Services, playing dumb and quietly pocketing the money in violation of the agreement.

The reporter said, "Officials with Affiliated Computer Services did not return calls." I don't know if or how this matter was ever resolved, but it was a good indication of totally irresponsible city government in the City of Los Angeles.

Is it any wonder that there's been such an influx of people moving from Loa Angeles to Arizona in the last couple years?
