Complaint Review: Partrs Components International

Partsco Quote one price, charge credit card additional and then add unauthorized shipping costs .....

On September 16, 2002 I ordered a Tail Lamp from Auto-headlights-taillights.com. This company is also known as: Parts Components International, Auto Body Parts Online and Partsco. The order confirmation price was for $44.15, shipping $6.95, handling $5.00 Total Price = $56.10. I first became aware of the problem when my credit card showed a charge of $60.94. On October 7th, I emailed the company to inquire about the status of my order. Then suddenly my credit card is charged an additional $20.00. At this point I'm out $80.95 and no merchandise. Sending emails to this company is useless as they are never answered.

On October 10th I called the company and explained the problem to Amelda. She said that in order to correct the problem I must send her a FAX with a copy of the original order confirmation and that a refund for the amout of overcharge ($24.84) would be refunded. This never happened. I called again on October 14th and got almost the same story but that it would take up to 72 hours to process the refund. The next day I called back and wanted the order canceled.

Amelda called later that day 10/15/02 and said she couldn't cancel the order as it was just shipped. Interesting since this was a whole month since the item was ordered but they advertise shipping in 24 hours. The part did arrive but was actually shipped a day after my attempt to cancel. In checking I found that this company is rated UNSATISFACTORY by the Better Business Bureau of the Southland, 315 N. La Cadena, Colton CA 92324. They show that this company has a history of bait and switch pricing and false advertising. Stay away from this company and warn your friends!!
