Ported “ALL” our business numbers out from PATLive or HostedNumbers. Our account had NO numbers listed/hosted within our account after port was completed. All though $9 a month isn’t going to break a business account; it’s more about the attitude and flippant QUICK (like this is a common issue) response when the conversation started out as… “I ported all our numbers out four (4) months ago and I’m still seeing charges to my account…?”. Followed by “Sir, it’s in our policy…” - “we have no notification when numbers are ported”, and charges will continue to keep your account active. As justification to continue dripping funds from accounts.
Sounds like a company that claims to have the technology to support business inbound calls to phone numbers with scripts and operators… Doesn’t have the technology to know when an account has NO numbers to support. Other TeleCom’s make it a point to close an account when the number(s) are ported out. Apparently, this one attempts to also make a few extra bucks for doing nothing and hoping you forget about formally calling to “cancel” your account and hiding behind “It’s in our policy”.
Well, I gave notice over the phone today that my account should be cancelled effective immediately. The representative confirmed our account to be closed and that we should receive another statement in October; however, no charges should appear.
I don’t care about the funds… it’s the cost of doing business. It’s more about a company having the technology to do what is right, choosing not to, and then hiding behind policy in order to claim/protect its position as “right”.
