My name is Deborah W, Because I had problems with my key being stuck in the ignition switch, on Feb, 16 2014, I took my Chevrolet Captiva to Pat O’Brien’s Dealership in Willoughby Hills. I had no other mechanical problems other than this. Gary, the Service advisor, told me that gears can sometimes not communicate with the steering wheel, but I was later told I needed a new shift assembly (shift control and park lock Solenoid). Unfortunately, neither the shift control or park lock Solenoid are covered under warranty. A mechanic named Joseph worked on the car and said it was fixed and when I went to pick up my car with my sister, I paid using a credit card. I drove few miles to a target, parked the car, and went in to do some shopping. When I finished and returned to my car, I started my car, and shifted out of park to reverse to back out of my parking space. But, when I shifted to drive, the car was still in reverse. I tested other gears (drive, neutral, manual) but they all kept the car in reverse and all reflected reverse on my dashboard display. I found that only two gears worked as intended: park and reverse.

I am very angry because: 1) I took my car to the dealer to get it fixed so that it would be operational 2) When I got my car, it was not just nonoperational, but more damaged than how I brought it to Pat O’ Brien 3) If this gear problem, which I did not have before, would have happened when on the highway with my sister in the car, the consequences for me and her would have been life threatening.

This entire experience was emotionally taxing, costly, and I am deeply troubled by the lack of care and service from Pat O’Brien in Willoughby Hills, Ohio.
