PAT PECK NISSAN ripoff LANGHAM & WHITE Two Lying managers CHANGED VEHICLE PAPERWORK AFTER MAKING VERBAL DEAL MOBILE Alabama
2nd week of October 2002
I checked out the truck I wanted on the internet in depth. I knew more information on the Nissan Frontier crew cab than one of the salesmen I spoke with (this was great for me!)
*1st LIE!
I made contact first on the internet with Ben McPherson, but when I asked to see him I was told he wasn't there (I later found out he wasn't off that day and was there)
I spoke then with a new car salesman that could not answer my questions on my trade in so he left & came back with "Timothy White.(1st manager)
Mr White spoke with my husband & myself on a car deal with a trade in/and then without. We decided to wait a couple of days & think it over.
We went back to dealer later in the week and spoke with Ben, met 3 other managers. Mr. White acted like he did NOT recognize us.
*2nd LIE
We made 5 or 6 bartering visits -settled on a different truck (demo) because they said we could get "a better deal."
*3rd LIE!
We considered it to be a resonable offer.
We started to do the paperwork & then Mr White said he was thinking of a different truck. He said he had made a mistake & left the room, another manager Mr. Langham came in apoligized made us and offer on the original truck we had picked out.
Again, resonable offer we accepted, signed all papers including agreement stating financing "has not been approved", took possesion of the truck.
***3 DAYS LATER [Bait & Switch?], they called & said 2.9% was not approved but 6.9% would be approved. They wanted us to come in and talk a deal.
I took the truck back. They can keep it and their lies.

i too was almost screwed by pat peck. a couple of years ago i went to get a truck from them too. we were going to work a deal when all the banks were closed. so all financing was not approved. i drove the truck home, and decided i did not like it and wanted my car back. they told me i bought the truck, after asking the night before if i was not happy i could bring it back. they said yes, but would not take it back. my father and i went up there to talk, they called my stupid and my dad ignorant. i walked out thinking i was stuck with the truck, still with no approval on finance. i told them if any changes were made i wanted my car back. they called me the next day and said they would take back the truck. they said there were no changes but i'm not sure about that. i took the truck back, got in my car and it would not start. i had a good battery before i took the truck, now it was dead. they jumped me off and i got home left it on charge, but it was completly dead. i was so pissed off at them i just went and got a new battery. the thing that pisses me off the most is that they still send me coupons for oil changes and other auto repairs. i urge people to this day not to go there. go to chris myers, mark dodge, or bay chevrolet, everyone will screw you some how but those three were good to me, so you might try them!

JUDY in MOBILE, Alabama. You either work for this dealer or you need my help.
I tell car buyers you NEVER buy a car from the same dealer over and over. If you go to the same car dealer time after time this is what can happen to you. Now READ THIS because I am trying to help you.
Car dealers want car buyers to like them for only one reason. To get your money before the dealer down the street bends you over. You might call this a game that most all car dealers play.
If you like your "Lot Shark" you will not want to do anything or say anything that might make him angry at you. Liking your "Lot Shark"can and will kill your negating ability.
You must never be afraid to piss off the dealer or their "Trained Lot Sharks". You are not there to make Happy friends!
They want you to get into a comfort zone. If you like them and go to them every time you buy a car, they will go deeper every time you do business with them.
When I sold cars, I would do or say anything to get the looker to like me. If I knew that the looker or buyer liked me, I could have my way with them every time they came to see me and they never knew what happend, nor did they care, because they liked me.
The people that like their "lot Sharks" always pay a bigger commission EVERY TIME. If a "lot Shark" gets you to like them, it is much easier for them to get you to PAY MORE for the sled that they are selling or dumping off on you.
If your "lot Shark" likes you and you like him, Ask him to show you all of his pay vouchers on all of the car deals you bought from him. I bet he will not show you any because he went deeper each time you bought a car.
All car buyers should NEVER like their "Lot Shark" You are not there to like anybody. You are there to buy a car and get the best deal you can.
By the way, Go to www.biggross.com and ask yourself what product or service to they sell to car dealers and their employees.
Here is a big list of web sites you need to check out. Now go do your homework by looking at these web sites. Then I ask that you post your thoughts as to what product or service they all sell to car dealers.

I bought my Mazda 626 a little over 2.5 years ago from Pat Peck & Paul Brewer was the Linance Manager..oops I meant to say Finance Manager at that time. He was a really nice guy...you know the type...the used car salesman, I plan on screwing you as soon as you turn your back kind of nice..well anyway, after making several unwanted and tacky passes at me (granted he was married at the time i.e. the wedding band)he proceeds the old trick "take the car home and enjoy while we get you approved for financing" Which I was happy to do of course.
When I go back to the dealership to finalize the paperwork, they (the Linance Team) had somehow gotten in their head that I needed Credit Life Ins, (which is Illegal to tell anyone that they must have on car loans) Extended warranty/ Protection Plan because a young girl such as myself "doesn't need to worry herself with car repairs" To make a long story short, they had gotten the final price well over $14,000.00 (car was only worth 10K at the time) and monthly payments to $363.23 at a lovely tune of 22%.
After carefully reviewing the (bogus) paper work, making sure to take my time and remain very calm....I told the Linance Manager to please read my loan application and see what I did for a living...I was the Branch Manager of a Local Mortgage Company and I did financing for a living and just because I was young and FEMALE it didn't mean I was ignorant, nor was I going to take this rediculous excuse for a deal. And as a matter of fact, I like working on cars too!!!
Needless to say, I got my car at the price and payment I WANTED and they even threw in $1000.00 rebate that was called an "End of the Month Special" ha ha

I guess I'm totally missing something...the first person detailed 3 lies, right? Why then, after even the first lie did you hang around for the next two?
Some of you people get treated like dog sh-- and then incredibly REWARD them and thank them for doing it to you. Why?????????????????????????
Now you probably expect help, right? You bought from them and now all their poor treatment of you paid off!
Next time any dealer tries to lie to you....use your feet. WALK OUT. You are the customer and THEY NEED you more than you need them.

#11UPDATE Employee

I have purchased one vehicle from Pat Peck Nissan. Being an employee I thought I would be treated with fairness and reason. I was wrong. I came across a car that was traded in, took proper steps in finding out the details. How much(first), then finding out mileage and service history.
Needless to say I was treated like a child and attitude was shown that I wasn't serious. Still I continued persuing the car. After discussing a deal, Paul Brewer(acting GM) or better known as Used Car Manager, decides to have the car delivered to an offsite sale in Saraland.
At this time I had financing approved and a co-signer on hand because of my age. I felt I was being treated very unfairly. Still, I persued the car.
Employee cost on vehicles is $500 over dealer cost. Questioning the $13,000 quote I was given on this particular car, I researched it thoroughly and took my inquiry to the business office. I was told there that the dealership only had $9,000 in the car. Returning to the Used Car Dept. I brought it to thier attention that I knew how much money was in the car. Not to happy they backed off the price to $10,000.
This satisfied me because I was ready to get it over with. 2 years later, I go to sell the car. The car is put on consignment with Pat Peck Nissan(still employed). Agreement made that $8,000 was reasonable price due to mileage and age. 2 months pass and I recieve a phone call from Paul Brewer stating he had a buyer and if I'd take $7,000. I stated my feelings on the price and asked what the customer had agreed to pay. No response!! I agreed to the $7,000 deal and will never purchase another car from Pat Peck Nissan.
After the deal was made with the buyer, paper work was signed and car was driven "off" the lot financing "NOT" approved, I asked for a time frame on payment of the car for financial purposes. "It will be two or three days." directly from the Used Car Manager himself, Paul Brewer.
Needless to say, I was now left without transportation. I was still paying for the car and Insurance. I couldn't transfer Insurance from the car to my newly aquired truck(not from Pat Peck Nissan) because the car was not paid off. Can't drive the truck because I had no Insurance on it.
1 month of begging and arguing goes by. Finally after 4 different financial institutions the buyer was approved. I recived payment and I learned my lesson on purchasing a vehicle from Pat Peck Nissan.

I am very sorry this person was treated the way that she said she was treated. I have purchased five vehicles from this dealership and have had nothing but kindness from all three mentioned above. Several family members have also purchased vehicles from Ben Mcpherson and were very pleased with him and Robert Langham. I feel the consumer should know both sides of a story not just the negative ones.
