Re: SCAM Ad
.
Somebody using the fax number 919-843-5903 has placed a SCAM for sale ad online using the Craiglist website. The ad can be seen at the following web address:
.
http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/2363883930.html
.
If somebody at the office which has the fax number in question explains this is a simple legitimate for sale ad, I suggest you ask the person to show the vehicle in question as it is probably non-existent.
.
However, one version of the popular scam is to advertise a real vehicle for sale at a very low price to generate numerous responses. The scam gains credibility by using paypal, Google, or another intermediary to process payment. When the buyer protests he hasnt received the merchandise despite having paid in advance or protests it isnt the quality or condition advertised, the seller stalls until the buyer who is desperate to get his money back to be able to buy a vehicle agrees to a partial refund.
.
Again, demand to see the vehicle. First, you will find it is non-existent or allegedly in storage and always in another city far away.
.
If you will do an Internet search using the phone (fax) number listed in the ad (919-843-5903), you will see the SCAM ad is currently running in Los Angeles, Detroit, Houston, and Lafayette, La.
