This company sold tickets to a recent "House Party/Old School Rap" concert featuring multiple artists for June 17, 2006 at 8:00pm. When we arrived at the venue (which is small, but holds at least 1000 or so people)at 8:35pm that night, there are only about 60 concert goers there! I started to have a bad feeling about this at that point, but we sat down at started to wait with everyone else....

Long story short, 3 and 1/2 hours later--only about 80-100 concert goers show up and are still waiting for the show. Finally a group of us confront an employee (Patrice) from the shows production company (BW Presents) at the ticket window and start demanding refunds since the show is obviously not going to happen. She begrudingly asks all of us to write our names and phone numbers on our ticket stubs, collects them, and gives each of us (about 80 people left)a post-it note IOU handwritten w/her name, an IOU for the amount of your tickets ($35/seat!)and nothing else.

I ask her if there is a contact number--she is curt w/me and says she will be contacting us within 10 days to ask us what form we want our refund in. That's it--she refuses to give anymore information AND she has our ticket stubs! When we purchased the tickets they would only accept debit payments (no credit), so they already have our cash and we can't cancel payments through our credit cards, etc. I personally am out more than $80 total for the night. Luckily, we did save our cash/debit receipt for the transaction and that and the post-it IOU is all the proof we have of the purchase.

We wait 11 days with no phone call from Patrice or anyone from BW Presents. We try to various directory and internet searches and cannot find any contact info. for the company. Finally, after reaching the purchase site for the tickets and the actual ticket company, they wash their hands of the situation and give us 2 phone numbers and an email address for Patrice and leave it at that. Only one of the phone numbers actually works, but is ALWAYS busy and we can never get anyone.

On day 12 we email Patrice. Wait 24 hours--no response. We email her again--same thing--no response. By day 14 we email her twice now and are more assertive in our request for information (we are never abusive, though). These phone calls and emails are all done during normal business hours and days. Still no response.....

Tonight (Day 14), at 10:20 PM I get an aggressive phone call from Patrice w/BW Presents! AT 10:20 AT NIGHT!!! She is rude and claiming that we are harrassing her about the refund. I am totally appalled that this lady is calling me at 10:20 at night and tell her so--and attempt to ward off her verbal attack about us "harrassing" her about our refund. I never curse or are abusive about it, but am assertive in explaining our anger and frustration at the lack of professionalism and customer service by her and this company. She hangs up on me. I leave it at that and email her another letter (that I have CC'd to her boss, the ticket company, the selling venue,and our local BBB)detailing the above situation. She STILL never confirmed when or how we will get our refund.

I have given Patrice and BW Presents 5 business days to contact us with a confirmation of when and how we will receive our refund or I will pursue action with the BBB and, if necessary, small claims court.

I have NEVER experienced such a lack of professionalism and customer service before with any other company as I have with this concert production company. I believe that they knew before this show was to start that they had not sold enough seats and STILL continued to sell the few tickets they did, knowing the whole thing was probably going to be a total wash.
Additionally, the late night home phone call from Patrice is absolutely appalling and an unacceptable business practice.

I had always learned in any customer service business that when your company is at fault for a mistake, it is the companies and it employees responsibility to address the issues in a professional and timely manner. Even if it was going to be 6 months before we could get a refund, they should have contacted us and told us the plan within the 10 days stated at the show.

It is not so much about the money anymore for me as it is not letting this woman and her company get away with treating people like this. I am fed up with rude people and fraud. I still cannot believe this woman called me at 10:20 at night!!!!

Just stay far, far away from any shows this production company puts together--you have to deal with nut case frauds to even try to get your money back!

I find it very interesting that in all these postings, Mr.Walker (whom you keep claiming that you are referring this issue to) has NEVER posted or contacted me or done anything else in this matter to defend your rude and unprofessional behavior. He has all our identifying and personal contact information, including email and personal phone number and addresses, yet we have only had positive and agreeable correspondence from him.

Maybe that is b/c HE and his company are not the problem here---it is YOU. Once he got involved in the situation and realized that YOU were completely out of line, HE EMAILED ME and used the statement that "Patrice is no longer a part of my team", referring to this whole botched concert night, I presume. HE was polite, apologetic, and PROFESSIONAL about acknowledgeing the problem with the situation and he promptly contacted us, kept in contact w/us until the situation was remedied, and refunded our money.

As is evident in all our correspondence with him (which we still have all our email copies of), there were no hostile exchanges between Mr. Walker and ourselves b/c HE was getting the job done and providing customer service! At least he didn't attempt to give me a post-it note as an IOU---way to be REAL professional, Patrice!

In contrast, YOU provided absolutely NO customer service and are now lying......I still have ALL our correspondence w/you and I NEVER USED PROFANE LANGUAGE OR PROFANITY WITH YOU. I have evidence of this. I also never used profane language w/you during your unprofessional late-night phone call to me. YOU ARE LYING. Simple as that.

I have no motive to lie in this situation as my issue w/BW Presents has been LONG AGO resolved--my money was refunded over a month ago. You, on the other hand, are simply bent out of shape b/c you have been called out on your tacky behavior in a public forum and are continuing this exchange. I debated even stooping to your level and responding again, but felt that I couldn't let you get away with intimidation tactics and harrassment again.

As stated before, YOU WERE THE ONE WHO CALLED ME AT 10:30 AT NIGHT BEING EXTREMELY CONFRONTATIONAL, ARROGANT, AND HOSTILE. I simply defended myself when you began hurling accusations at me for supposedly "harrasing you" with the 3 emails in 5 days (this is also after I WAITED 10 DAYS for you to contact us as you had said at the concert you would--which you did not)that you ignored.

I still hold steadfast that I never cursed at you or used profanity---I never got that far b/c YOU HUNG UP ON ME as soon as I questioned you as to why on earth were you calling me at 10:30 at night???? I raised my voice in my anger and incredulousness at your call, but NEVER used profanity. You were simply completely out of line with that call. You could have handled this whole situation from the beginning so differently.....but, no, you had be rude and aggressive instead of just responding to our initial emails.....

You didn't attempt to email us first and tell us you hadn't gotten to your mail in that week.

You didn't write us a professional letter on company letterhead detailing the whole sitution for the refund delay.

Some crazy lady that I have seen once in a ticket booth (and who wasn't that nice to me then...) is calling me at 10:30 at night yelling at me?!?!?!? I wrote my initial post back in June, updated it in the following days in June and received my refund back in August. I am done with this ridiculousness, but oh,no.....here you are bringing up this drama over a month and a half later, even after we have had our resolution w/BW Presents and Mr.Walker over a month ago. No wonder he took you "off his team", in his words........you are one of the most ridiculous adults I have ever encountered!

As for "slander", I have evidence to prove that I have never used profanity with you or said anything in this forum that wasn't true. I haven't even used you whole real name!

This is a forum for consumer complaints, which I had a HUGE one with your lack of customer service. I didn't post a huge notice in the newspaper with you name, calling you out. I didn't continue emailing or calling or writing you with complaints. I used the appropriate forum for airing my dispute with your lack of professionalism. I even updated my post with the postive resolution of the situation with Mr. Walker, which I did NOT have to do. You were never mentioned (or thought of, for that matter)again. Yet, YOU have managed to put yourself back in the middle of this situation AGAIN!

I wrote you 3 intial emails that YOU NEVER HAVE responded to (to this day) and THAT WAS IT. YOU ARE THE ONE WHO CALLED ME and are now (almost 2 months later), continuing this. YOU are the one harrassing ME, now!

As for missing a "good concert series"--what does that have to do with anything? I would have liked to have seen the initial show that I paid for....but that is besides the point! I haven't even seen or heard any advertising for anymore of your shows.....I purchased and attended 2 other shows this summer in Houston (with a different company) with none of the problems I encountered with you. So...are you going to "ban" me now from purchasing anymore tickets from you? BWAHAAHAHAHA--that is such a joke.....like I would even EVER buy anything else from you EVER!

Go ahead.....do whatever you like or feel that you need to so that you feel "vindicated", I guess. Is THAT what this is all about? You "proving" something? If it is, then you are truly a sad lady with nothing better to do that going on about this almost 2 months later! You could have "proved" it or yourself by doing your job the RIGHT WAY from the very beginning!

I specifically informed my fiance, Mr. Walker, that I did not want to have any dealings with you, someone who used profanity and was threatening and he asked that he handle the situation henceforth. I agreed.

I will let the courts handle it from here. No more to be said by me on this site about this situation or the name-calling, considering the numerous slanderous remarks made, which has a reflection me and 'our' company. I am the bigger person here and will apologize for the delay in your receiving your refund, that I mailed to you and your family in July. I also apologize for your not having the enjoyment of what was to be a spectacular concert series.

I am Lydia, the first complaintant regarding the unprofessional manner in which the above situation was initially handled with a "Clarice" formerly of BW Presents.

First, I am the using my real name and you have ALWAYS had my real phone number and address, you just chose to never use it and respond to my initial complaints the first 3 times we tried to contact you!!!!! We have never tried to hide our identity to you. I say "we" b/c I have used "A.H." as this is my husband whose debit card originally purchased the tickets, thus, it was HIS purchase to receive the refund for. There are no identities being hidden here---as stated before, you have had all our correct identifying information and contact information from the very beginning of this whole drama.

Second, nothing I have said in the above prose is slander. Everything I have said details the TRUTH of what occurred of the situation in a forum that is set up for consumers to relate their complaints about unfair consumer treatment. I have done nothing that details slander in only relating the truth of what occurred. Obviously, you have a different spin on what actually occurred, but nothing changes that you were completely out of line calling me at 10:30 at night for a consumer issue. YOU WERE OUT OF LINE.

Third, you never did your job in this situation. Regardless of what occurred as to why or how the show didn't happen is completely beside the point of how you failed to professsionally respond to consumer requests for basic information as to when a refund would occur. We never cursed or used foul language with you. We simply REPEATEDLY asked for you to respond to our emails with ANY information regarding the refunds. You chose to ignore us completely until you called me at 10:30 at night to complain that we had emailed you 3times in 5 days! Then YOU hung up on me when I called you out on being unprofessional and calling me at 10:30 at night! I never cursed or used profane language w/you. You hung up on me---and I emailed your boss!

Your boss then had to handle the rest of the situation (much more professionally, I might add) as he emailed us right back that night and then continued to contact us on a regular and timely basis as to how and when refunds would occurr. His emails were completely professional and informative. We never felt the need to email or contact him or the company anymore after that (except in response to his emails, thanking him for the information) since we felt that we finally got the basic info. we had originally asked for. He called us later to confirm our mailing address and we received our refund in early August. We had absolutely NO PROBLEMS with Mr. Walker, unlike all the problems we had with you!

So......the re-occurring theme here and the re-occurring problem here seems to be YOU and your complete mishandling of the whole situation (and your continual lack of ability to simply acknowledge that YOU MESSED UP)!

I know that we were not the only consumers that night that were just as mad as we were, and I feel that we handled the situation as nicely as we possibly could have considering the lack of customer service received by you. I didn't call you at home at 10:30 at night asking why you wouldn't respond to my emails, did I?

Again, once someone else took over the mess you made, we had no more problems and received prompt, professional, and polite service with an APOLOGY and our refund. If you had simply done these things from the BEGINNING, then none of this would have happened, would it? A simple replied email with a "sorry for the cancellation, refunds will occurr, you can contact us at....blah, blah, blah" would have sufficed.

As for your supposed "slander lawsuit", I say...go for it and good luck, sister! We are a small family of 3 with one income (I am a SAHM) and we RENT. You would get absolutely NOTHING if you won (which you wouldn't b/c what I posted here was not slander and your case is just ridiculous) because we don't have anything but an old car that we share and second-hand furniture (that's why losing $80 on these tickets would have hurt so much to us financially--they were supposed to be my birthday gift and special expense, so it was a total disappointment when it didn't happen and a rip-off if we didn't get refunded).

You just can't handle being called out on being a lousy employee in this situation and messing the whole thing up so badly.

This is the first time I have seen this slanderous information and am appauled by this from the woman listing herself as "Lydia". Her real name is A. H. and I have her address. I am taking action to sue her for these remarks made on this site. What I need to mention as a rebutal and to clear the good name of this company, is that the owner came to this city specifically to marry me, Patrice. He spent over $60,000 to have this concert, of which $22,000 was spent in advertising on 4 different radio stations for over a period of 5 weeks. All were excited about the upcoming concer and MANY, MANY well-known Artists contacted us anxiously wanting to be a part of this perticular concert. We only chose a few and had lined up the next 5 concerts based on this one. Unfortunately, the turnout was not good, although it was commented all over the internet as one of the best concerts to come/happen in over 30 years. Austin should not have been the pilot location for such a concert. The artist's were here, a video production crew for multi-million dollar television station (due to the nature of this email I won't mention name, but EVERYONE has heard of them)was here to film, and Austin did not support the concert. This is something that Mr. Walker, in his 25+ year professional career, has ever experienced. He has worked with and personally knows almost everyone in the entertainment business...EVERYONE. I met him, we fell in love and I was not ready to move out of town, so he came here to try and make things happen for Austin, as he did for the MANY events he has overseen/produced in his career all over the world. It is unfortunate to have such a financial loss.

This woman did not do her research in locating me or this company, for it was listed all over the place! I have call waiting so the phone lines were not "always busy" as she states. In good faith, I agreed to refund all monies due to those who paid for their tickets, and have upheld this commitment by contacting everyone in a timely manner. Tickets were purchased in several different manners, including, and especially by way of "credit cards". We were not able to get monies from the ticket box office for as least 10-15 days after concert. MANY of the ticket stubs given to me that night were free tickets that individuals had won and were requesting refunds. Due to the crowd and time, I asked everyone to provide me with there stubs in order to evaluate and audit those that truly were due a refund. Although each ticket clearly displays "NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES" on them, I "politely" agreed to refund everyone their money. I was honest enough to provide an IOU with my signature and name of our company to each. This woman emailed me over 8 times in one day and expected an answer the same day. I did not get on my computer until that evening around 8:50pm and immediately called her when I opened her email, of which all were threatening. I politely told her that I was contacting everyone and had already repaid many and that she was to be contacted the following day. I asked her why she was so threatening in the email and she began cursing at me. When I tried to calm her down, she began yelling, so I told her that I would have the owner (my fiance) contact her and hung up. I am and have always been a professional and honest individual and to see this "ONE" complaint from "ONE" person, as opposed to the many compliments and accolades of this company tells the character of this woman. Enough said.

I finally heard from the boss!! received a very professional and nice email from a Mr.Walker

Withing 2 hours of sending the final email discussed above, I received a very professional and nice email from a Mr.Walker--who is apparently the owner of BW Presents. He apologized for the inconvenience and acknowledged the mishandling of the whole situation. He confirmed that we will receive a full refund and possibly free tickets to another up-coming show.

AND, to my surprise, informed me that Patrice is "no longer a member of his team"! So....either she quit or was fired---I'm not sure how to feel about that, but she definitely doesn't need to work in customer relations!! LOL!!!

I'm still going to be on alert w/this company until I actually receive a refund, but at least I FINALLY got some information from someone who is, at least, talking like they know what is going on. What a complete pain this whole thing is....and the worst part is that it would have been a good show, too. Oy!!!!
