Nirvana's Operations Manager showed the buyers' representative the scrap metals at their warehouses, one in San Pedro Laguna and other in Cavite. The buyer paid 10% deposit for two containers and fortunately only paid 90% upon copy of BL for one container vide TT.
When the two containers arrived in Hongkong on 7 May 2009, it was discovered :
1. seals were changed
2. weight of container is different from Inspector ( Schutter Philippines) report and BL
We desperately tried contacting Nirvana Metal Trading both their MD and Operations Manager and their office. All numbers are not contactable.
The container ( # GESU2986210) then was opened in the presence of Police and SGS and shipping company, Marinana Shipping Ltd.
All reports including Police report ref 09013829 dated 14 May 2009 are available in hand.
Caution : Be careful of copper millberry and scrap scams from Philippines.

You can go to the Philippines National Bureau of Investigation at Taft Avenue, Manila, Philippines, and file a complaint. The scam is now being investigated as there are others who have also been victimized, and filed a complaint. There must be a complaint from the victim, however. Further, you must bring all the documents that will serve up as leads such as the bill of lading and way bills of the trucks. The difficulty with this case is that the victims are all from other countries and they don't have representatives here in the Philippines, thus the criminal syndicate behind this is still ongoing. There are others however who have already filed their complaints.
