I am writing to inform you that on July 12, 2012, the Supreme Court of California summarily disbarred Mr. Ward from the practice of law- in California as the result of his conviction for aiding and abetting wire fraud in violation of 18 United States Code sections 1343 and 2 (a) on March 31, 2011. The effective date of the Supreme Court is August 11, 2012. The State Bar has authority to take disciplinary action only against attorneys. As a result of the disbarment order, Mr. Ward will no longer be an attorney in California. Therefore, the State Bar will take no further action on your complaint against Mr. Ward and the matter will be closed.
Please keep the records related to your complaint and inform this office if your address or telephone number changes. After five years, some disbarred attorneys attempt to obtain an order allowing them to practice law again. We may need your assistance if Mr. Ward attempts to do so.
California lawyers have established the Client Security Fund ("CSF") to reimburse certain monetary locces. due to attorney dishonesty. Ple 9 se note that the Office of chief Trial Counsel rifles not review or consider CSF applications for reimbursement. Applications for reimbursement must be submitted directly to CSF and related questions should be directed to CSF at (213) 765-1140. You may obtain additional information about CSF and/or a CSF application from the State Bar's official website at
www.calbar.org or by going directly to the internet address of http://calbar.ca.gov/Attorneys/LawyerRegulation/ClientSecurityFund . Please note that CSF cannot begin to take action on an application for reimbursement until after the disciplinary recommendation has
been accepted by the California Supreme Court. CSF may take one-year or more to conduct the necessary legal proceedings that will result in a determination of your application.
You may also wish to consult with legal counsel for advice regarding any other available remedies. You may contact your local or county bar association to obtain the names of attorneys to assist you.
