I just finished "unverifying" my Pay Pal account. I'm in the midst of a dispute over a sale on E bay (material for another complaint) with payment through Pay Pal. Pay Pal declared "The Buyer Complaint Policy does not apply to disputes about the attributes or quality of goods received". In other words, if ANYTHING is shipped, Pay Pal doesn't participate. How about we just put a brick in the box?

I reversed the charge to Pay Pal with my credit card issuer. Pay Pal is legally "The Merchant of Record" and doubtless WILL charge back the seller per their 'seller's agreement'. (They don't let on to 'buyers' that the sellers have already agreed to these terms). ...but I digress.....

From reading other complaints against Pay Pal, I decided it wise to delete my checking account information (thereby no longer being 'verified')to negate the possibility of their sucking the money back out of my checking account. This would be unrecoverable funds at that point. I've read of complaints of Pay Pal holding customer funds 'hostage' during a dispute if the customer was careless or unknowledgeable enough to allow THEM to hold funds.

Want some real stress? Start a series of transactions originating on E bay with payment handled by Pay Pal. When things go right, it's a smooth operation. When they don't....uhhh...ummm...bend over Holmes!
