Complaint Review: Payman Davoudpour

We hired Payman Davoudpour to build us a retaining wall in late 2013. We also hired him to rectify a bad concrete work in our backyard done by a pool contractor. These jobs went ok. The two jobs led us to sign up Payman to replace our driveway. Since we had prior experiences, we agreed to pay down a deposit of $7000 for the driveway with no questions asked! He didn't start the project as scheduled, so we asked for the money back. He told us that he didn't have the money to pay back immediately and that the court system was too slow if we were to sue him.

We wanted to give him another chance, so we extended the project completion date by another month and a half. He still didn't start the project citing weather excuses even though he was doing several other projects in the area. When we did some research, we found out that he had judgments against him from companies and other private citizens. His company used to be called "PT Resources" and it has a "Failed" rating in BBB. He calls his company "Kaleb & Co." now. He also calls it "East Cobb Concrete" even though there seems to be another company in the area by that name. We told him that we would go door to door in the neighborhood to alert people about the scam if he didn't finish the project or pay us the money back. We finally got the $7000 back after 3.5 months. This was a lesson learnt by us to not rely on past experiences and never to pay a deposit in good faith.
