Why would you pay to claim your supposed winnings?

Received a mailer from Payment Services International?  Throw it out. Pay attention to the glaring red flags that are dead give aways of fraudulence.

At first glance, it appeares to imply that the addressee has won some portion of a Powerball contest. There were several hints that it was a fake.  First, if you've never entered any such contest, why would you be a winner?   Secondly, the language is geared to fool the unsuspecting in that it claims the addressee to be a GUANTEED PRIZE "CANDIDATE." If you'd won, that's what it should have said, straight out. Thirdly, since you'd never bought a ticket to begin with, what data would there be to release to justify the $10.00 "data release fee," and why would you have to pay for it? And lastly, International lottery ticket claims seem to always be fraudulent.

To win a contest, you have to enter or play to win. This one was counting on you to simply give your money away.
