I scheduled a payment of $300 to PayPal Credit (formerly Bill Me Later.) Two weeks before the payment was scheduled to come out of my bank account, I called and spoke to a Rep to cancel it, because their website did not allow you to see, modify or cancel future payments. She assured me it had been cancelled. I then scheduled a lower payment of $200, which I felt more comfortable would not overdraw my account. Yesterday, PayPal Credit took BOTH payment, for a total of $500, leaving me with no money in my bank account and my children with no food until Friday when I get paid again. I am not sure if the Rep I spoke to was merely incompetent, or if it is PayPal Credit's policy not to let go of money they have their claws on, but either way they have really made it difficult for me to survive financially until payday. If I had known their Rep was lying about cancelling the first payment, I would never have scheduled the second one. This company deserves an investigation. Finally, when I called to ask if they could return even the smaller $200 payment to my bank account so I could feed my kids, they refused - claiming the payment needed up to eight days to "complete" - despite they fact that they grabbed all the money out of my bank account like lightning. As far as I know, once my money is gone from my account, the transaction is "complete". They seem to be much more skilled in taking your money than putting it back.  I will think of them fondly counting my money this week while the kids and I are chowing down on Ramen Noodles.
