Paypal - Ebay Paypal using illegal collection methods Nationwide
I am going to make this simple and quick, because details on l confuse the issue. Paypal says I owe them money for an old transaction. I tell the person on the phon eto please send me an invoice of this and upon investigation I will pay what I owe. I do not think I owe what they are saying, $47.87, but if I do I will gladly pay it once I see why. They tell me to give them my credit card or bank info or they will ruin my credit. I say again please tell me why I owe you this, and for what. They say again give me your credit card info now or your credit will be ruined. I ask them to at least give me an address to send a money order to, but nope, that is not good enough.
How can a company say you owe them money and not have to provide proof of it? Maybe I do owe them, I do not remeber oweing them anything, but I have a right to know why...yes? Very poor consumer relations, and if you cannot tell me why I owe you money and for what, hell id I am giving personal info over the phone to whoever.

Log onto your account. On the first page, at the bottom, is a "contact us" link.
Contact them and ask about the charge.

It was either a collection agency or a scammer. Either way, you were right not to give out your information. I really don't think Paypal will call you directly. They usually send an email to you for any coorespondence.
This is most likely a scam. Ignore it. See if you get anything in the mail.
